— LOST INNOCENCE
TRIGGER WARNING: MENTIONS OF RAPE AND PHYSICAL ASSAULT. PLEASE SKIP THIS CHAPTER IF YOU FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE."Some kind of mother." Rinyoung sneered, shoving past a group of staggering men. The girl's shoulder harshly collided with one of the male's, earning a low animalistic growl to seep from the gruff man's lips.
"Hey girly." He called out.
Rinyoung couldn't be bothered as soju pumped her adrenaline. She continued to walk, her head held high, shoulders pushed back and lips pursed into a thin line.
"Hey!" A calloused hand clutched the fabric of her dress, preventing any further movement forward. He pulled the girl back harshly, causing her smaller frame to crash into his. "Didn't anyone teach you to talk when spoken to."
"Sorry I'm mute."
"But you just spoke?"
"No I didn't." Her sarcastic comment made the other men around her snarl, and before she could register their movements, they've already shoved her into a nearby alley.
"Well now that I'm looking at you, aren't you a beauty?" A man of the shorter side spoke, his voice deep, and his sick smile appeared more menacing in the dim lighting.
"I kinda wanna have fun tonight." Another commented, earning nods of agreement.
"Yeah, hows bout it, Princess?"
"Sorry, my boyfriend is waiting for me—" Rinyoung tried to walk past, leaving a few feet of space between them, yet a man with numerous amounts of tattoos gripped her arm tightly. He pulled her back and circled his arms around hers, preventing any further escape plans she had in mind.
"We've heard that plenty of times."
A sudden realization dawned on the female.
They were gonna rape her.
The guy who she initially bumped into stepped forward, his large hands cupped her cheek and slid down to hold her chin between his thumb and forefinger. "We're gonna enjoy you." He chimed in his thick voice, coaxed with the night's shots of soju.
Large arms creep around her waist as beads of fear dewed the girl's cheeks.
She kicked and screamed, hoping that there was a sliver of a chance that a soulmate moment could kick in, so her night in shining leather, could rescue her.
All faith ceased once they gripped the top of her dress. They tugged ripping part of it, her strap falling down her shoulder as they did. But they soon gave up as a man scrunched up the satin fabric to her mid abdomen, revealing part of her stomach and her underwear.
"You were asking for it, sweetheart." The way the nickname rolled off his tongue and onto hers, wasn't the same as Haechan. She felt butterflies erupt in her stomach and her heart strings tugged at when her soulmate said it, but with these four men, she felt like a little girl again. Weak, vulnerable, and like an object.
Rinyoung had no strength as one of them punched her square in the eye, and slapped her across her face. She felt the burning sensation envelope her face, but the girl could only focus on her lace that slowly slid down her slender legs to the dirty pavement of the alley.
Voice a little hoarse, she tried calling out to anyone, but no one came to the rescue.
Why did Donghyuck show up at the most unnecessary times, but now he couldn't?
The sounds of belts unbuckling and zippers sliding down reeled her back to her senses unwillingly.
She wanted to disappear, but life was so, so cruel.
. . .
As they were finished with her, the men tossed her to the side, as if she was a rag doll. Rinyoung pulled down her dress, barely covering her bruised skin, as she constantly tugged at her straps. They were loose, and fell occasionally.
Her hair was a mess, as her scalp felt horrible, the result of it being pulled with a great amount of force.
The girl's make up was smeared and their fingers were engraved onto her wrists.
Everything about Rinyoung screamed victim.
Especially her bloodied lip and bruised eye.
The men were inhumane, treating her as an object solely made for sex, and she hated it, despised it.
Nevertheless, Rinyoung pushed herself off the dirty concrete, and steadied herself onto her heels. Reaching out, she pressed her hand against the building's side to gain composure. And although she looked terrible on the exterior, her mind was undoubtedly more distraught than her appearance.
Her conscience screamed for her to go to the police, to report the sick men who did this to her, but her heart was much louder. It begged desperately for the other man she despised, Haechan.
Maybe it was because she was in a vulnerable and mangled state that she craved her soulmate, or that she wanted to be safe and the only thing she could think of was, him.
Ironic how he was her problem and solution.
And before she could realize, she stood in front of their home. It was strange how she could remember the house they had taken her to, but Rinyoung knew deep down she wasn't paying attention to her surroundings when walking here.
Her feet had a mind of its own.
Absentmindedly, her pointer finger raised to their door bell and pressed it, emitting a bell chime melody.
The door swung open abruptly, revealing a half-awake Donghyuck. He wore a black t-shirt with a pair of plaid pajamas pants as house slippers adorned his feet.
"We don't want your products—"
"Haechan." She cried, opening her arms before creeping them around his neck, with hot beads of desperation dewing her red cheeks.
Suddenly, everything became clear to the boy, as he blinked furiously to rid of the blur in his sight. He glanced down, his eyes capturing the condition of her face. A large red hand mark was imprinted on her left cheek, her eyes were swollen, as her lips were red with lipstick and blood, and to push him further into a state of anger, a large dark purple patch was on her right eye.
In that moment, he wanted to protect her, as not only as a concerned human but also, oddly enough, her soulmate as well.
