— GOT A SECRET
"Who?" She asked, her brows scrunching together in confusion as her eyes narrowed. "Does he go here?"
"No. He's one of our friends and we just found it weird that you both shared the same birthday." Chenle answered, grasping the laminated paper in his hands, his eyes scanning the various treats. Jisung nodded and continued.
"We just thought maybe you guys could meet?" The youngest suggested, his eyes watching her expression change significantly.
"As much as I'd love to..." Rinyoung trailed off, thinking over her schedule for the day. "I have a party with some of my parent's colleagues and partners. And, there's no way I can get out of it." Her shoulders slouched, sulking at missing her chance at meeting her soulmate.
"We can meet another day maybe? But he's pretty busy." The dark haired chinese pondered, wondering what days his older friend would be free, or if he was willing to meet his soulmate.
"What does he do for a living?" She inquired, narrowly staring at Chenle.
"Uh..well, it's not really a typical job." He tried to tiptoe around the secret lifestyle of Donghyuck, not wanting to scare off his soulmate.
"So what is it?" Rinyoung's curiosity peaked, the emotion overwhelming her as she silently wondered what her soulmate did for a living.
"He's a freelancer?" His statement came out more as a question, confusing the Im. The chinese boy tried to play it off coolly, yet the uneasiness in his voice shone brightly through his fake facade.
"Uh Huh." Skeptical of the vague answer, her gaze stayed on Chenle, trying to read past the mask he wore. The two underclassmen were undoubtedly weird and suspicious, yet she found herself trusting them, believing that they did know her soulmate, but something was definitely up. "Give me your phone." She stuck her hand out towards him, a deadpanned expression lingering on her features.
"Huh?" He briefly glanced down at her outstretched palm before meeting her dark eyes.
"Just give it, Zhong." Rinyoung grumbled, resulting in the younger to quickly search his pockets for the device, pulling it out of his front jean pocket and placing it in her hand hesitantly. No idea of what was happening, both boys peered over her to look at the screen. Her thumbs tapped silently against the screen, adding her number to his contacts. Completing the new contact with her name, she tossed the boy's phone back to him, Chenle fumbling with the device but he eventually grasped it securely. "Just text me when you're able to set us up for a meeting. But I'll be going now."
Standing up, her chair scrapped against the ground, being pushed back by her sudden movements. Pulling her bag onto her shoulders, Rinyoung glanced back down at the two. "I don't know what games you're playing but I'll eventually know what you're hiding about him." Her icy tone brought shivers to their spines, her hard glare making the two visibly gulp.
