WITH YOU
epilogue. | soulmates.

"Yah! Lee Donghyuck!" Rinyoung yelled, running down the large flight of stairs— following her husband. She jumped down from the last step and sprinted to the kitchen where he had speedily escaped to— his mocking laughter bouncing off the tall walls of their home.

Entering the spacious room, she halted in her steps in front of the island counter. She stood firmly. Her shoulders squared and posture straight— her arms crossed across her chest. Although it's been years that they were married, they continuously played a game of cat and mouse still.

Rinyoung had grown into her soft features, her long dark locks now cut at her shoulders, her style became more mature like, and yet her signature eye roll and click of her tongue stayed the same.

Her left brow raised in question— watching her lover crouch behind his daughter. "Hyuna, help me," He pleaded, peaking out from her shoulders— catching the menacing glare of his wife.

"Dad," The 16 year old groaned. She looked back at him, habitually running her fingers through her dark brunette hair. "You know i'm just as scared of mom as you," She whined, trying to move aside— feeling her nerves jump at the intense stare her mother burned into her shoulder.

"Yeah, but-" He murmured, though cut off with a question that seemed to repeat every few hours.

"What'd you do now?" The young girl asked, running away to side with her mother— leaving her dad unprotected. Freezing in his position, Donghyuck stood crouched awkwardly, though he tried to play it cool by fixing his pose to seem as if he was leaning seductively on the table.

"Tell your daughter what you did," Rinyoung urged, brows furrowed in an annoyed expression. She picked up her house slipper from her right foot and threw it at the tanned male.

Instinctively he caught it in his hands, uncomfortably laughing as he glanced back and forth between the item and his wife.

Rinyoung cleared her throat, further pushing him to reveal his wrong doings. Picking up her left slipper she threw it again, finally hitting him in the chest.

"Uh," His orbs shook anxiously, "I may or may not have spoiled Hyun woo's surprise birthday party,"

Hearing what he had did, Hyuna gasped loudly in offense. Her hand immediately was placed to her chest— hovering above her heart in mock shock.

"How could you—" She asked, her free hand darted out to point at her father. "We worked so hard on keeping it a secret!"

"Hey, hey," He tried to calm her down, hands held in defense. "Don't blame me—"

At that second, their youngest had walked into the kitchen. "Mommy, where's the juice—" Before Soohyuck could finish his words, Donghyuck snatched the boy and held him up in front of him.

"Blame him! He's the one!" The older yelled, the child limp in his arms as if the situation was normal— which it was in the Lee household.

"Donghyuck put my child down," Rinyoung deadpanned, prompting the male to do as she said.

"What's with all the yelling?" Hyun woo asked, his tall figure walking into the kitchen nonchalantly— hands stuffed in his skinny jeans.

"Our dad is a terrible secret keeper." Hyuna stuck her tongue out at the man.

"It's whatever," Rinyoung sighed, waving her hand as her shoulders slumped. "Your father just has to make it up to me—"

"Oh sweetheart~" Donghyuck wiggled his brows as he cooed teasingly, playfully biting in her direction, making the kids in the room collectively gag.

"Get a room,"
"Y'all are musty,"
"Ew,"

"Don't call the person who pushed your big head out musty," Rinyoung corrected her youngest, eyebrows raised in amusement of his vocabulary. "Who taught you that?"

"Uncle Jisung—"

"I'll have to call him later, anyway we're going grocery shopping," The woman announced, grabbing her bag and keys from the counter top before walking towards the garage door.  "You're coming too birthday boy,"

"Mom," Hyun woo whined, turning on his heels to watch her walk to their family car.

"Blame your father, if you didn't know you wouldn't need to be coming with us."

. . .

"I can't believe you spoiled the party," Rinyoung mumbled, bumping Donghyuck's hip with hers as she passed him with the shopping cart— turning into the snack aisle.

"Hey, Soo was talking about the party then i was replying to him when Woo walked in." He explained, jogging to her side and taking over the cart— so that she didn't need to push.

"Have you ever heard of zipping your lips?"

"Have you ever heard of 'I can't shut myself up'" Donghyuck deadpanned, stopping the cart in front of the kid's favorite chips. He began to pile them into the cart, all while arguing with his wife. "I mean at least now we have an extra pair of hands to help?"

"It's his birthday, and his 20th in fact." Rin whined, pouting. "This is kinda big for him,"

"You know what his present should be?"

"What?"

"Having the talk with my members—"

"Guys," Soohyuck called, his parents both looking down at him.

"Huh-"
"Yeah—"

"Look," Hyuna pointed ahead, where Hyun woo was crouched to the floor, picking up a dropped bag of chips, a girl around the same age as him— reaching out too.

Suddenly, their hands layered over one another— emitting a bright hue of gold to illuminate the area around them, gold specks floated and everything at that moment felt as if it was surreal.

"They're soulmates." Rinyoung gasped, a sense of nostalgia washing over her.

the end.
