"When are you gonna ask?" Bora whispered, naturally scooting in as she was let in on a big secret. She lifted her eyes momentarily— shifting them left to right— scanning to see if anyone was listening.

"Mom," Donghyuck laughed at her behavior, it being a while that he had seen the woman act so freely and silly.

"Answer the question," She murmured.

"Some time this week. I'm not too sure though," He sighed. His eyes wandered to his right seeing his soulmate sat on the grass, hyun woo on her lap, as the other kids sat in front— seemingly all playing a game. "Me and the boys were supposed to plan tomorrow when she goes out shopping for our apartment."

Bora hummed, nodding her head in understanding. "You should bring them around too," She clapped her hands in excitement. "We can do a little barbecue,"

"I'll bring some. I don't think all 23 of us plus Rinyoung, Hyun woo and the rest of our family can fit in this one backyard,"

"That reminds me," She looked down at her watch, before gazing back up to her children. "We should start eating before it gets too late,"

Donghyuck hummed in agreement.

"Everyone! It's time to eat!" Bora yelled aloud— her small frail hands cupped around her mouth.

The five— sat on the lush lawn— turned their heads to the loud voice. They began to stand up one by one and slowly make their way to the wooden table. This time, Hyun woo ran hand in hand with Minsuk as the girls trailed behind, one on each side of Rinyoung.

Soon enough they were all seated. Donghyuck, his mother, Hyun woo and Minsuk all sat on one side as Rinyoung, Yori and Yeona sat on the other. An array of dishes were spread out on the wooden surface, varying in flavors and proportions.

Once Bora had picked up a piece of meat and took a bite, a flurry of chopsticks rushed out to grab their favorites.

Lovingly, the older woman piled on a heaping of beef onto Hyun woo's rice. She patted his head gently, a warm smile lacing her lips. "Eat well," She cooed— a large grin appearing on the child's face.

As the other children loaded their bowls with food, Rinyoung and Donghyuck stayed still. They watched as the younger ones ate first before picking up their chopsticks.

About to tell her oldest to eat a lot, Bora's lips pursed into a big smile. The corners of her lips reached her eyes, allowing them to crinkle and turn into tiny crescents. She watched as Rinyoung picked up a few pieces of Donghyuck's favorite dish, and placed it on his rice.

Returning the favor, the male did the same with her favorite.

The pair shared a quick glance of appreciation before returning their attention to their food.

Bora's light-hearted chuckle drew the younger woman's eyes to her. The older shook her head before looking down at her plate and continuing to eat. But Rinyoung's eyes stayed glued to her.

She couldn't help but slowly examine her features. She was almost like what the girl had imagined Donghyuck would look like if he was a female. Their lips held the same shape, as their hair were the similar tones of brown as well.

Nearly everything about them was akin.

Feeling the slight pressure of eyes on her, Bora looked up from her meal, catching the stare of the young adult.

Rinyoung wanted to look away, thinking she was being disrespectful, but before she could, she watched as a delicate grin beamed on the woman's face. Stars twinkled in her deep eyes almost communicating a sense of acceptance— which made feelings of relief and overwhelming joy swell in the other's heart.

"I'm glad you're my son's fate."

. . .

"Thank you for the meal!" Rinyoung thanked the family, a warm smile gracing her face.

"Make sure you visit frequently," Bora scolded, wrapping her arms around the girl tightly then releasing her.

"I'll leave you guys some privacy to say goodbye while i take Hyun to the car," Donghyuck nodded and allowed his soulmate and son leave. He watched as they walked down the side walk, before returning his attention to his mother.

The pair exchanged their goodbyes, their arms lingering around one another, just in case it would be a while until they meet again.

Retracting their hands, they waved goodbye and Donghyuck began walking towards his other family. He traveled down the pavement to where the two waited by the car, Hyun woo now held on her hip.

Mindlessly, the two adults smiled at one another.

At that moment, a click could be heard.

Rinyoung's happy expression dropped into an expression of confusion. "What was that?"

"I don't know " Donghyuck muttered, scanning the area suspiciously though he couldn't find anything out of the normal. Instinctively, he grabbed Rinyoung's wrist and guided her to the back seat to buckle in Hyun woo before escorting her to her own seat.

Going unnoticed by the younger, a dark tinted car sat between two houses. A man in his early twenties, rushed to the vehicle, flickering through his photos of his camera before sticking to one— then passing it to an older man, who sat in the back with another younger male.

"Why are we even here?" Jaebum seethed, eyes glaring at his father who intensely stared at the camera in his hands.

"I wanted to prove if what I heard was true," The older spoke in a hushed voice.

"Why is her having a child important?"

"I know who I will be passing the company to,"

"Father—" Jaebum tried to argue, but he could only silence when seeing the serious gaze the man held.
