Jack is sitting back in his chair looking at the manilla envelope in front of him. In this envelope will determine his future. How the Senate's Gay Young Bachelor will become the Senate's First Single Father. A status he's willing to change if the mother of these two beautiful girls will give him a second chance.
Suddenly he hears Jackie's voice outside his office talking to his long time secretary Evelyn Lincoln. Jackie is here to sit with him while he reads the results of the DNA test.
"Ms. Bouvier, it's nice to see you again," Mrs. Lincoln says.
"Thank you, it's nice to see you again Mrs. Lincoln," Jackie replies.
"Senator Kennedy is waiting for you," Mrs. Lincoln says just when Jack opens the door to his office.
"I thought I heard your voice," he says walking up to Jackie.
"How are you?" he asks moving so Jackie can enter his office.
"I'm fine, how are you?"
"Good now that you're here," he replies before pulling her into his arms and kissing her. This time with more heat and intensity than before.
This time Jackie pulls away leaving Jack looking at her with bedroom eyes wanting more.
"Mrs. Lincoln I don't want to be disturbed for the rest of the day."
"Yes sir," Evelyn replies before continuing her work.
Jackie clears her throat before speaking, "Jack, you called me to your office so we can look at the results not for you to kiss me," she says after he closes the door.
"I know Jackie, but I can't help it. I can't stop thinking bout you and when I look at you I want to kiss you."
"Jack what we had was a long time ago. So can we please just look at the results?"
"Fine," he replies letting her go before going around to his desk where the manilla envelope sits.
Jack puts on his glasses and opens the letter which reads, "Arabella Lee Bouvier & Caroline Lee Bouvier DNA matches that of John Fitzgerald Kennedy's ninety-nine point nine percent. Please find on the next few pages the proof of Paternity"
He turns the page to see the numbers and how they match. The second page shows his and Arabella's DNA matches, at the bottom of the page it states, "The alleged father is not excluded as the biological of the tested child. Based on testing results obtained from analyses of the DNA loci listed, the probability of paternity is 99.9998%." He then looks at the next page with his and Caroline's names which shows the same results as Arabella's.
"They're are mine," he smiles handing Jackie the test results.
Jackie smiles and replies, "I know. So now what?"
"I'll get these over to my lawyer and my father so they can add the girls to our respective wills. Also, I would like for you and the girls to come up to the Cape to meet my family, especially their grandparents," he says getting up and sitting on the edge of his desk in front of Jackie.
"Ok fine, just let me know the date in advance please," she says getting up.
"Where are you going?" he asks as Jackie puts back on her coat.
"Home, I have work I need to get done before I pick the girls up from school later."
"I was hoping that we could have breakfast together and discuss custody and possible living arrangements."
"Living arrangements?" Jackie asks.
"Yes, considering that I am running for President and when I win, I'll be living in the White House which I would like my daughters to visit as well as stay with me from time to time. That's subject to change if their mother is willing to be my First Lady."
She takes a deep breath.
"So would you mind joining me?"
"Sure Jack, but after I have to get home to edit my article."
"Alright, let's not waste any more time."
Later that afternoon Jack is back to sitting at his desk. His lunch date as he called it went somewhat well. He and Jackie discussed the girls living arrangements, now and when he moves into the White House.
When he is not on the trail the girls will stay with him and spend time with him for half the time. Most of the time of course will be with their mother.
He has to get used to the fact that he's a father now. He has to worry about two little girls who are going to look up to him.
Later on that night Jack is sitting in his living room with Bobby and Teddy just finished talking about campaign strategy. They are sitting around with a celebratory glass of scotch celebrating Jack finding out he is a father.
"So now what? How are you and Jackie going to handle custody of the girls?" Bobby asks before taking a sip of his scotch.
"For right now we'll share joint custody of the girls. I'm in the process of getting their rooms set up here in Washington. Once I am in the White House they'll have rooms there also. I just have to learn how to be the best parent I can be and try to spend as much time as I can with them. I already missed out on the first six years of their lives, I don't want to miss out on any more moments."
"What about Jackie?" Teddy asks knowing his brother is trying to woo is his former paramour.
"I am working on Ms. Bouvier. She's playing hard to get, but I'm ready for the challenge. I know I messed up the first time, but this time I won't let her get away."
