Jack's POV...
Jack finds himself sitting on Jackie's sofa waiting for her to come back downstairs. They just got back to her place after he took her out for a romantic birthday dinner. The restaurant was the perfect setting, with low lights, candles, good food, and champagne. Throughout dinner, they flirted with each other, Jackie blushing from his attention. Since she revealed her past hurt and confessed she loved him he feels the wall she had up slowly coming down. Still, he has more work to do when it comes to completely gaining her trust.
He watches Jackie descend the steps as she went upstairs to check on Caroline and Arabella.
"Jack would you like a glass of wine?" Jackie inquires.
"Sure I wouldn't mind a glass. Although Ms. Bouvier, I should be serving you, it is your birthday."
"It's fine Jack, and besides Senator Kennedy my birthday was Thursday."
"Still Ms. Bouvier," he says getting up and going over to where she is. He wraps his arms around her waist before planting a kiss on her exposed neck, "It's your birthday weekend."
He knows he got her where he wants her as he hears her let out an audible gasp.
"That's fine, but it won't kill me to get two glasses of wine," she giggles.
"Fine, whatever you want," he groans against her soft skin.
"Come on Jack, let's have a seat," she says turning to hand him his glass.
"You scared I'm going to make you fall for me more if you stay in my arms?" he inquires teasing her.
"No, not at all. I can handle you, Jack Kennedy. Last time I checked I had you wrapped around my finger," she argues following with a wink.
He lets out a low chuckle, Jacqueline Bouvier is a tease.
Jackie takes her seat on the sofa and pats the empty cushion next to her. Complying he takes a seat next to her. "I hope you enjoyed your birthday?"
"Yes I had a lovely time," Jackie replies.
"Good," he replies.
They sit in compatible silence, the only sounds are the cars driving by outside and the ticking of the clock on the mantel. He watches as she reaches for her wine glass and takes a sip. How bad he wants her lips to be pressed against his. Kissing Jackie is like taking a drug he can't get enough of.
He pretends to yawn and puts his arm around her then pulls her close to him. She giggles as he knows that is the oldest trick in the book. Yet when she's right where he wants her, he moves in and kisses her.
Just as they are getting into their kiss there is a knock at the door.
"Who in the world could that possibly be," Jackie says in between kisses.
"Maybe they have the wrong address," Jack responds before gently biting her lower lip.
The knocking then becomes incessant to the point where they stop.
"I don't think they got the wrong address," Jackie says getting up.
He follows Jackie to the door only to see a man standing there with a bouquet of red roses and a suitcase.
"Happy Birthday Jackie," the man says.
Jackie's POV...
Jackie stands there speechless, the man in front of her is the last person she expected to show up at her front door.
"Happy Birthday Jackie," John Husted says presenting her the bouquet of red roses.
"John what are you doing here? How did you even find out where I live?" the questions fly out of her mouth as she still can't believe her ex-husband is here.
