Jack's POV...
While Jackie and the girls are out spending time together, he decided to work on the next speech he is to give once they are back on the campaign trail. In less than a week, he and Jackie will be flying out to Iowa to campaign for the next set of primaries. Thankfully he won the primary in West Virginia which was a hard state to win over.
Although he should be spending time enjoying the beautiful weather and it's his birthday weekend. He still feels the need to get some work done. Besides he needs to keep himself busy while the girls are gone.
After twenty minutes of working on his speech, he began to get restless. Sitting still is something he has always struggled with, stemming from when he was a child. Walking over to the open window Jack takes a seat and inhales the fresh salty air. Being at the Cape always relaxed him, no matter how crazy his day was. Sailing on the blue waters calmed him, his escape from the world. The ocean is one place he could always go to recharge.
His mind then drifts to Jackie. It seems she is letting her guard down with him a little more than before. Her knowing he isn't sleeping around is a big factor in gaining her trust. Since giving up his fan base he feels better, his body doesn't depend on his need to get laid. He feels he can focus more on what's important his family and his race to the White House.
Still, the thought of the two of them making love is driving him mad internally. Jackie is a very beautiful woman whose aura draws him like a moth to a flame. This new intimacy has made him feel closer as close as he can to her. Then it hits him, tonight after the girls go to bed he'll take Jackie for a romantic walk on the beach and a mini picnic. Any time alone time with her is time he looks forward to, hopefully, he'll get more alone time for the rest of their lives.
An hour later Jackie and the girls return, and the girls ask can they go sailing. A request he is willing to fulfill to make his girls happy. As they walk towards the boat bobbing in the water he reaches and laces his finger with Jackie's. Without a word, she looks at him a small smile forms on her lips. Lips he wants to kiss.
"So tonight I was hoping we could go for a walk on the beach to you know to talk."
"Uh sure Jack, that sounds nice," she replies.
"I asked Bobby if the girls could stay with him and Ethel so they can play with Courtney and Kerry, which he didn't mind."
"That's very nice of him and Ethel I must tell them thank you."
They arrive at the shore which he helps her onto the boat before he worked on untying it from the dock. Once the boat was free from its port he hopped on then got straight to work on the sails.
Jackie sat with the girls as he worked on the sails. After the sails were set in the right place he went to the helm to begin steering.
"Daddy, Daddy," Arabella cries out running up to her father.
"Yes Bella," he replies as his oldest daughter comes over to him. She takes a seat on his lap.
"We just saw a school of fish, they were orange and white," Arabella says.
"Really, how many were there?" he asks.
"About twenty daddy and they were swimming fast."
"I bet they were," he says before kissing her forehead.
