Chapter 17

Jackie's POV Continued...

Jackie just stepped out of the shower making her way into her room to put on her nightclothes before Jack comes. For the past three weeks while they are on the campaign trail Jack stays with her in her room every night. When they are not on the trail she talks to him on the phone until he falls asleep.

Even though she is praying nobody finds out about them sharing a bed. She has come to appreciate Jack making the effort to change for her and the girls. Also, she has to admit she likes the feeling of falling asleep in his arms. They talk about the day's events and she'll give him a few tips on his speeches. They cuddle as they begin to drift off to sleep.

She drops her robe and reaches to pick up her nightie when she hears a loud wolf-whistle. She quickly holds her nightie to her when she turns to see Jack standing at the door.

"Jack what are you doing here, I thought you were still with Kenny and Dave," she asks feeling embarrassed he has seen her in her birthday suit.

"I was, but we finished early. I'm glad I came when I did," he says with a smile.

Well, I'll just finish getting dressed in the bathroom," she replies blushing.

"Ok," Jack replies not taking his eyes off of her.

Once she is inside the bathroom she quickly puts on her nightie. She can't believe Jack walked in seeing her naked. Well, he's seen her before but that was several years ago.

When she comes out of the bathroom he's already in bed.

"You ok kid?" Jack asks.

"I'm fine," she replies getting into bed.

Without another word, she turns over and faces the wall.

"I guess it's too much to say goodnight," he says teasing her.

"Good night Jack," she replies over her shoulder.

"Good night Jackie," he replies.

He turns off the lamp and puts his arms around her waist. She feels his warm breath on her neck causing goosebumps up and down her arm. Just then she feels his thumb gently caressing her lower stomach.

"Jack," she says.

"Yes," he says.

"What are you doing?"

"Sorry I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable," he replies turning over facing the other direction.

"No I'm not uncomfortable, I'm just feeling a little self-conscious," she replies sitting up turning on the lights.

"Look Jackie, there's nothing to be self-conscious about. If anything I should've called you and told you I was on my way. You are a very beautiful woman with very alluring features," Jack replies.

He turns to where he's now laying on his back he looks at her as she looks at the reflection of them in her bed together. Something about this reflection looks so right as if she and Jack belong together.

"I never realized how good we look together, " he says as if he is reading her mind. He then sits up and places a kiss on her bare shoulder. She closes her eyes trying not to let him see how his touch affects her.

"Come on Jacqueline, admit it you like it when I touch you," he says his voice deep as he places another kiss on her shoulder, this time he begins a trail of kisses up towards her neck. Stopping at a certain spot, determined to show her how beautiful she is. Her face must be giving her away because he continues to kiss that spot on her neck that makes her blush.
