Chapter Four - Concern

Over the next few weeks, Tommy started learning more tips and tricks for weight loss. He spent time searching up and making excuses as to why he couldn't eat.

In the morning, he would wake up very early, before his parents did, and pretend to eat breakfast then. In college during lunch, he would go to the library and study/edit videos or talk to Tubbo. The blonde would lie and say that he had a big breakfast, or say he ate something beforehand. He usually got away with this.

As for dinner at home, Tommy would say he ate a lot at college, and then make a snack to bring up to his room, which he would then throw out. No one suspected anything. His parents and Tubbo were oblivious. So were most of his other friends. However, Wilbur was slightly sceptical. Despite not seeing the teen in real life, he had noticed slight changes in how the boy spoke and acted on and off stream. He simply assumed that Tommy was tired from college and YouTube work.

Tommy gradually spent less and less time with his friends. He still hung out with Tubbo a lot, especially since they went to college together, but didn't stay up late talking to him as much. Tommy also spent a lot less time talking to Wilbur, along with the others. It got to a point where he was too scared to talk to anyone else, and often made excuses as to why he couldn't talk.

As time went by, October and November passed, and it was the first of December. Tommy started to go on the SMP less and less. He would only stream on it once a week, sometimes maybe twice. He was on it off stream quite a lot, but it was always when no one was online. Once someone would join, he would quickly log off.

By December, a lot of his friends realised what was going on. Tommy looked exhausted when he streamed, and wasn't as funny and energetic as before. A few days into December, the boy stopped streaming and uploading videos. For two whole weeks. His friends messaged him, Wilbur, Dream, Techno and Niki, but he didn't respond.

Tommy also spent very little time talking to Tubbo, and the boys no longer walked to college and back together. Tubbo felt so distraught, thinking he had done something wrong, but of course, he didn't. After Tommy hadn't spoken to him irl in a week, he decided that it was time to call Wilbur and talk about Tommy.

"Wilbur?" asked Tubbo after the elder had accepted the call.

"Hey Tubbo, what's up?" asked Wilbur.

"Well, uhh, it's just that, have you noticed, I mean, do you think Tommy is acting a bit weird?" asked the concerned boy.

"Well, to be honest, I thought I was just over analyzing everything, replied Wilbur. "But a few days ago, a few SMP members had messaged me asking if I knew if Tommy was ok, because apparently he hasn't been answering their messages or calls," continued the elder.

"Yeah well I haven't talked to Tommy in real life for over a week. Usually we'd walk to college and back together, and we'd do our homework together, but now we don't do any of that, with Tommy texting me saying that he's too tired or busy. Usually I'm just left on seen," says the best friend.

"There is something wrong with Tommy. Obviously something has happened, or else he wouldn't be acting like this. It isn't like him to act like this. Usually he's pretty social and spends hours talking to us. There isn't a day when he's not on the SMP or not talking to us. But recently, that's all changed. And we need to find out why," Wilbur replies.

The boys spent around the next hour talking about what had changed about Tommy, trying to pinpoint everything different about him. They tried to figure out reasons as to why he had changed, but they couldn't seem to think of much. Either it was without reason, or they simply hadn't noticed what was going on in their friend's life. They also tried to figure out how to get Tommy to speak to them. As much as they wouldn't like to do it, they decided on an ultimatum as their last resort.

Once the boys felt that they did as much brainstorming as they could, they left the call and agreed to speak more about it tomorrow after doing some research online. They weren't very happy with the results found on the internet. But they had to help their friend.
