Peters pov

I don't know what to do, should I go and talk to her or should I just go and watch a movie with her so she doesn't feel pressure to tell me anything but she knows i'm there, or should I just avoid her completely and give her space?
Conflicted I decide to walk into the living room to contemplate my decision to find the sofas already occupied with people, Steve, Nat, Tony and Thor are all there, they all seem deep in a serious conversation, I walk over tentatively not wanting to interrupt. Tony looks up at me and signals to the others to stop their conversation.
"Oh um hey kid" he says
"Hey guys, what are we talking about?" I ask already assuming I wan't get the truth
"Oh just you know stuff" Thor says as Nat rolls her eyes
"You were talking about y/n weren't you?" I ask
"Yeah we were" Nat says sighing
"Is she gonna be okay?" I ask knowing that nobody knows the answer
"Hope so kid" Steve says
"What were you guys talking about actually Steve?" Tony queries
"Who me and y/n?" He asks
"Yeah I heard some shouting earlier, everything okay?" Tony asks
"Oh er not really, she's not doing too great" He says staring at the ground
"What do you mean? what did she say?" Tony asks with concern in his voice
"She said-" He pauses a moment
"She said what?" Thor chimes in
"You cannot tell her that I told you this" He replies
"Cross my heart and hope to die" Tony says sarcastically
"well you know how she hates it when we worry about her?" He asks
"Yeah she begs us not to" Nat responds
"Well she said it's because she doesn't want us wasting our time worrying about her when she'll be gone soon" he says solemnly and I'm shocked my breath catches in my throat
"What does she mean by that?" I ask noticing tony is speechless and unable to meet anyone's eye-line
"It means she's lost hope and if she has it she won't be able to fight it this time" he says
"Well I- she has to" I say my voice breaking as I hold back tears, tony is still staring into space
