Jung Soo Yi
the afternoon wind was blowing. i was feeling a bit chilly, however, i brought my bag hurriedly with me so that i could head to the playground and meet minhyuk as soon as possible.
"soo yi-ah!" as i was walking out of the campus, i suddenly stopped upon hearing my name getting called.
i turned around immediately and found yujin who was running towards me.
"what's with the rush in leaving? jooheon and i were going to invite you to eat some hot and steamy fishcakes with us!" yujin said.
my face slowly lit up in pleasant surprise as i found it to be a good idea. but unfortunately, it was bad timing.
"i would love to, but i'm so sorry, yujin-ah. i'm about to go and meet..."
at that moment, i took a pause and realized that it might be best if they didn't know about my whereabouts for today. i genuinely needed this time alone with minhyuk to convince him to go back to school and to resolve any matters or issues between us.
"my aunt... i have to go meet her around near the building of my dorm."
"is that so? too bad. we really miss you, soo yi-ah. how about shownu, is he accompanying you?"
"oh, he isn't. i'm heading out without him. anyway, i don't wanna waste any more time so i'll go ahead, yujin-ah. eat a lot and enjoy!" i waved my hand goodbye at her.
"alright, take care, soo yi!" yujin bid me goodbye as well.

i took a look at my phone, reading soo yi's messages over and over. roughly running my fingers through my hair, i hurriedly slid my phone inside my pocket and eventually decided to get up from my bed and to grab my jacket to head out.
i let my feet take me to where she was with my heart taking the lead. i knew it was impulsive but it was what i wanted to do. i couldn't resist her and fight back any longer.
the moment i got to the doorstep, my father saw me about to leave. with that, his eyes widened in protest.
"lee minhyuk, where are you going?" he spoke firmly in an authoritative voice.
i released a breath out and turned to look at my father.
"i'm heading towards someone important to me, so please... don't stop me from doing so." i spoke shortly and immediately pushed the door open to leave the house.
with my heart beating fast, i went as fast as i could to the playground where soo yi and i used to hangout. seeing her was all that i could think of. my mind replayed almost every little piece of memory that i had of her as i left.
i had initially planned to keep on resisting the urge to see her and to communicate with her until the very moment that we would have to leave. however, i was breaking that with what i was doing today. i couldn't help but go towards soo yi.
it just wasn't like me to let her down. as her friend and as someone who cares for her because i do like her, i have to let her know of the truth.
time passed and eventually, i arrived near the playground. my heart was beating like crazy and my mind was getting too worried thinking that i could be too late. however, i still decided to stand from a distance first to spot where soo yi stood.
i moved around and tried to search for her until finally, i saw her standing near the swings checking her phone and looking around for signs of me as well. seeing that, i smiled to myself at the sight of her.
