upon finally reaching the top of the stairs, i took a deep breath in and lightly pushed the door, revealing the wide and spacious rooftop of the school.

the wind immediately hit my face the moment i walked in which suddenly blew strands of my hair, making me struggle holding it back in place. i slowly looked far around searching for shownu until i suddenly realized that he was just to my right.

"oh- uh.. i thought you were waiting somewhere else." i scratched my head a bit.

"i was just standing here the whole time." he smiled.

shownu straightened himself up and took a single step towards me, moving away from the wall.

"i'm glad you really came."

i smiled at him awkwardly and nodded my head.

"what is it... that you wanted to tell me?"

shownu pursed his lips together and swallowed hard before finally grabbing the moment and the chance to tell me what he wanted to say.

there was a moment of silence between the two of us but i gave him that time to muster up the courage and to speak at the perfect timing as i waited.

"soo yi-ah..." he finally called.

"hmm?" my face lit up.

"did you receive my letter last valentine's day?" he finally spoke.

my eyes slowly widened as i realized that it had been true. i looked at him for a moment with my lips slightly parted. i tried to process that it was really happening; shownu had just asked me about receiving a valentine's day letter from him.

this was what i had came for knowing that i had the chance to confirm this piece of information.

"s-shownu-yah, were you... soap?" i asked, as it was my turn to confirm.

shownu nodded his head slowly but firmly.

"did you already get a hunch about it?"

"ah... no. i actually just realized the possibility of it today. but then i tried not to assume until i personally confirm it with you." i answered to which shownu smiled.

"seeing that you've read my letter, i guess you finally know how i feel for you. all of it is true, soo yi-ah. i actually like you." he confessed.

my eyebrows slightly raised as my heart fluttered recognizing how much courage shownu had.

"if it's not too late, can i ask you how you feel about me? do you still like me, soo yi-ah?"

"wait- you knew?" i responded in surprise.

shownu scratched his head, looking away from me shyly.

"i kinda found out... in fact, i'm grateful that you liked me and i also thought you were charming. you probably didn't know it, but i also admired you from afar just as how you did for me. it just took me some time to let you know."

my mind and heart grew troubled hearing shownu out. what was i supposed to do? this was an amazing blessing to have someone you liked admit that they also shared the same feelings for you. but i was already slipping away from all of it, and here is shownu trying to pull me back.

"actually soo yi, today, i also wanted to ask you out."

i looked at him in surprise once again. i was taken aback by the events and i didn't expect it all to come from shownu himself.

"i-i really don't know what to say to that right now, shownu-yah.." i spoke honestly.

i noticed shownu's face fall a little bit upon hearing my words, but he quickly tried to keep his composure.
