i walked to the parking lot outside of the venue and rushed to yujin's car. right behind me, i was able to hear minhyuk's footsteps and heavy breaths as he tried to chase me.

"where are you going? go back inside!" he called out to me.

i ignored minhyuk for a while until i finally found yujin's car. i took a pause and looked back, surprised to see minhyuk still behind me.

"wahh, he really followed me.." i muttered under my breath.

i frowned at him and motioned with my hands for him to walk faster. he got my signal and ran a few big steps until he finally reached me.

"why are we out here? it's a cold night." he asked.

"well, i like it." i shrugged.

yujin's car had a truck design wherein the back was open. i climbed up first and quickly sat down, and minhyuk also followed after me.

"whose car is this?" he asked.

"yujin's. pretty cool right? the night sky is full of stars and i like the cool breeze." i told him.

there was enough space for the both of us at the back because it was wide. minhyuk and i sat comfortably facing each other.

"why did you have to come here?" he asked again.

"because i was annoyed for a moment that you ruined my conversation with shownu. thankfully, i don't hold grudges." i told him.

"the moment we come back jooheon and yujin are pretty much gonna be wasted. so, who's gonna drive this now?" minhyuk asked.

"her dad will fetch the two of us later." i answered.

minhyuk nodded and kept silent. i lowered my head, not being able to believe i was actually alone with minhyuk outside.

the silence that filled the air between the two of us was both awkward and comfortable. awkward if i thought about it well, but comfortable because my heart felt at ease at this very moment.

"you know what? i don't really get why you did that and why you're here right now when you were the one suggesting we shouldn't be associated with each other anymore." i lightly chuckled.

minhyuk blinked a couple of times and then looked away from me.

"yah, don't overthink it. i have no reasons, i just act according to impulse." minhyuk shrugged.

we met each other's eyes, and so we stared for a moment until we both broke into a shy smile.

"i suddenly remember the things you were chatting me when we didn't know each other." i teased him by bringing it up.

in my point of view, minhyuk was a lot more embarassing in chat than i was. it just made it funnier how he appeared intimidating in school but was hwang jisoo-crazy in reality.

"don't even bother teasing me! you talked about shownu, too." he shot back.

i started laughing at minhyuk as he grew flustered. he held his ears as it felt hot and turned red. i let out a sigh as i finished laughing at the funny thought of him.

"s-stop laughing... you're acting crazy, you won't get shownu like that--"

"lee minhyuk-ssi, i have better chances of dating shownu than you do for getting jisoo back. dating shownu is not a big deal for me unlike how you sulk over your ex though." i laughed at him again.

"yah..." he pouted and crossed his arms, growing impatient that i made fun of him.

suddenly, minhyuk's eyes lit up and became brighter as he seemed to have come up with a wonderful idea in his mind.
