"everybody, this is your final practice! sing!" our teacher instructed.

i sat down silently on my chair while we all practiced our graduation songs. this day, i was feeling too weak and hopeless. minhyuk, for the third and final time, eventually decided not to show up at all.

i was greatly disappointed.

this wasn't the kind of graduation i was envisioning it to be at all. i've always looked forward to the day we were going to be complete taking pictures that would serve as memories and closing a chapter of our lives together.

i wasn't happy with the way things were turning out especially because minhyuk would not reach out to me.

that day, he stood me up at the playground with no excuses nor apologies to make up for it. i waited and waited for him until night time came. i had too much faith in him that he would be willing to see me and sort out things with me upon my call.

if he could've left me even just a few words in a message it would've probably been better. it would've probably hurt less.

but he didn't.

and i guess it just proved how i didn't greatly matter to minhyuk more than i thought i did. it was easy for him to leave me for jisoo that night so i guess it would also be easy for him to ignore me and to stay angry at me with no plans to resolve things at all.

i slowly turned my body sideways and looked back at the empty chair where minhyuk was supposed to be situated. i hated how i was still longing to see him deep inside. minhyuk was supposed to be sitting there practicing graduation songs with us. he was supposed to be eating recess and lunch together with jooheon, yujin, and me. everything was supposed be filled with happiness and excitement. but then it wasn't happening because he officially backed out from the graduation ceremony.

i slowly looked away and caught sight of shownu far back minhyuk's empty chair. he had already been looking at me with a worried expression evident all over his face. i guess he saw everything from the way i looked at minhyuk's seat. again, i recalled how he confessed getting hurt because of it.

i felt sorry so i quickly broke the eye contact with shownu and faced back in front to avoid having to see his face.

"okay, very good. we're now going to dismiss you early as we are half-day today. make sure you rest well and sleep early tonight so that you make it on time to the graduation ceremony. thank you students and we'll see you all tomorrow." our teacher finally wrapped things up.

it was bittersweet. we finally reached the final day of graduation practice and minhyuk wasn't here to witness it with us. picking up my bag, i walked towards shownu courageously.

the moment he saw me right in front of him, i saw that there was a moment of confusion. however, i could tell that he was pleased to see me approach him first.

"shall we go for a bingsu date..?" i softly asked him.

upon hearing my invitation, shownu's eyes slightly widened in delight. soon, i saw the corners of his lips curve up into a warm smile signifying how he liked the idea.

"here's your strawberry bingsu, ma'am, sir." the waitress finally served our order.

shownu and i expressed our thank you's together and then went ahead to grab our spoons to dig in the bingsu we would share.

"here, soo yi-ah. have a taste first." shownu took a small scoop and served it to me.
