i carefully stared at the choices i had set on the dresser table. picking a lipstick shade to match the look i was going for today was a bit of a simple challenge. for tonight, i had worn a light pink halter neck top matched with a denim skirt that fit around my curves nicely. i decided to loosely wear a long black cardigan around me as well to keep me warm incase the night would get me feeling cold. 

"hmmm, should i go for this one? or this one?" i picked out a bold red shade and the nude one. 

out of the blue, my phone suddenly started ringing which interrupted me from my small dilemma. 

hurriedly picking it up, i got to see that it was no other than yujin initiating a video call with me. 

"soo yi-ah!!" she called out to me the moment i accepted the call.

"wooow, you're looking so pretty! looks like you curled your hair into waves, huh?" she noticed.

"haha, thanks yujin-ah. what were you calling for by the way?" i asked.

"quick, help me decide. should i bring this bag or this bag?" she brought out two sling bags in different colors.

"go for the black one!" i chose.

"nice! thanks!" she rejoiced.

"wait, help me out too! which lipstick shade?" i immediately showed her my choices.

"ooohh, the red one and the nude one are both at the extreme sides of the spectrum. go for something cherry pink!" 

"alright, thanks-"

"with gloss!! definitely!" she added which made me chuckle. 

i picked up a pink shade and started applying it on my lips to have yujin see for it herself. 

"there! it looks perfect! remember, you have to look as best as you can later. we're not only having fun there but i'm going to let you meet edward who i have been trying to set you up on a date with for weeks now!" she reminded. 

"i know, we've talked to each other on chat after he matched with me first." i rolled my eyes and smiled.

"what have you guys talked about?" she asked, eager to know.

"he's only asked me how i have been... he doesn't really bother get to know me yet but he's more curious of how well my days are going and what i have been up to."

"i see.. well, let's hang up now. i'll see you later once i fetch you! bye!" yujin bid goodbye.

"bye, see you!" i waved my hand and turned the call off. 

i silently stared at myself in the mirror examining my appearance. tonight, i was going to meet most of my high school batchmates. two years have passed since we have last graduated and seen each other. as of today, we were now 20 and 21-year olds studying in our respective colleges and universities.

i softly smiled at myself realizing that with meeting them again, there was a lot to look forward to.

"we're here!!" yujin parked her car and cheered.

we both got out together and hurried walking inside the club which our batchmates have reserved for the night. walking in the place, i quickly caught on how the atmosphere was already amazing.

the lights were dazzling, the music was lively and upbeat, and the people were warmly welcoming each other over a bunch of snacks and drinks.

the sight of friends catching up with one another was beautiful. even those who have never really spoken much back in high school were interacting with one another, finding out how much has changed.
