as the group walked, a good half an hour after the gunshot, lori stopped again.
"are you still worrying about it?" andrea sighed.
"that was a gunshot." lori told the small group as if they hadn't all witnessed it with her.
"we all heard it." daryl informed her, the whole group having stopped now.
"why one? why just one gunshot?" lori questioned in a panicked tone.
"maybe they took down a walker." daryl suggested, although he knew that that wasn't the case.
"please don't patronise me. you know Rick wouldn't waste one gunshot to put down a walker, or shane, they do it quietly." lori exclaimed, everyone silently agreeing, yet not saying anything as they all needed to get back to camp.
"shouldn't they have caught up with us by now?" carol weakly speaks up.
"there's nothing we can do about it, anyway. can't run around these woods chasing echoes." daryl blows the two women off.
"so what do we do?" lori asks.
"same as we've been. beat the bush for sophia, work our way back to the highway." daryl instructs, his crossbow on hand as he does so.
"i'm sure they'll hook up with us back at the rv." andrea reassures.
everyone except for andrea and carol start walking again.
because of the unsteady ground, marcella trips slightly, yet glenn grabs her arm as to stop her from falling.
"be careful." he smiles down at her as they stand there.
marcella pushed glenn slightly in a joking manner. glenn then pushes her back and they end up in a small war, that is until daryl intervenes.
"hey lovebirds! stay with us." he instructs, causing the two youngest members of their small group to go quiet and start walking again; they both had a small idea that they acted like a couple but had never been called out on it.
