"glenn." marcella began, grabbing the boy's attention.

"what's up?"

"dale is talking to lori about the situation." she told him quietly, not knowing if anyone was close by.

"oh god." he muttered.

a few minutes later, lori hastily walked over to the pair. glenn was cutting fire wood as marcella sharpened her machete.

"i'm sorry. i'm- it just came out. and it was dale-" glenn began, lori cutting him off as marcella joined the two.

"it's okay. i never should've put you in that position. and i know that you know marcella, it's okay, i trust you." lori then paused for a moment, looking down to the ground. "i've been thinking about what you said, about, um, about needing help. and your right, that i do." lori finished.

"name it. yeah." glenn agreed, marcella nodding along.

"if your still willing to make a run into town for me." lori felt bad for asking, but didn't know what else to do.

"i'm your man." glenn smiled, brightly.

"me too. i'm in." marcella smiled too.

"thankyou both." lori took the two into a hug of appreciation.

"it's okay, it's not a big deal, really." glenn assured the older woman who then walked away.

glenn then turned to marcella. "i don't want you going." he told her, a small frown present on his face.

"no, no you don't get to do that, glenn." marcella furrowed her eyebrows, keeping a calm tone as she spoke.

"what?"

"you can't keep me from it, from the apocalypse." there was a pause. "i know you want me to be safe, i want you to be safe too, but-" glenn cut marcella off.

"your right. i'm sorry." the two made eyecontact, small smiles growing on both of their faces. "i just want to protect you from all of it." glenn put his hand on marcella's cheek. "but i can't." he sighed, the frown returning to his face.

"we have to be able to face it, glenn. both of us. because one of these days we won't have a choice." marcella told him truthfully, glenn nodding slightly.

glenn placed a small kiss on marcella's forehead, then beginning to walk back to their tent, she followed him.

the two hadn't spoken about the kiss yet, they both wanted too, but there was always something important happening that got in the way.
