it was the next day, the sun rising in the early morning as marcella, patricia and maggie checked on beth.
"i'll set up and iv. that's the best i can do without hershel." patricia explained, a worried tone present in her voice. she shook her head as she sighed, before leaving the room.
as marcella and maggie spoke sweetly to beth, andrea sat on the end of the bed.
"can i get you anything?" andrea asked, kindly.
"ner, i just wish my dad was here." maggie answered.
"she'll be okay maggie." marcella reassured her bestfriend, placing a hand of comfort on her shoulder.
"you just need to be strong for her." andrea smiled.
as marcella moved to the side, stretching slightly, she hissed out in pain, having strained her stitched side. the stubborn woman had assured everybody that she was well enough to help out, yet this had disproved her and maggie wasn't going to let her carry on.
"are you okay?" maggie questioned.
"yeah, yeah. just moved funny." marcella excused herself, although nobody fell for it.
"come on, let's get you back to your bed, you need to rest." maggie began, standing from beth's bed.
"no, no no. i'm okay-" maggie cut marcella off.
"no, your not. now come on." she frowned at her bestfriend's stubbornness.
marcella sighed as a silence fell between the women, before speaking up again. "fine, i'll go back to bed, but you need to stay with beth. i'll be fine getting there by myself." marcella smiled briefly at the two before leaving the room, having given into maggie.
as she slowly walked towards the room that she had woken up in, just last night and this morning, marcella tried to surpress wincing at the pain. although she wouldn't admit it, her whole body ached and burned in places. maybe another few hours of rest will make her feel better.
