"would you look in on carl for me?" lori questioned andrea as marcella sat by beth's side. everyone else had left the room, making it easy for marcella to take notice of lori's strange request.
"of course." andrea muttered.
marcella immediately walked out of the room, having finished checking up on beth and wanting to see how her bestfriend was holding up. after a minute, the young brunette reached maggie on the porch, just where she expected to find her.
"how you holding up?" she questioned, placing a hand on maggie's shoulder.
"what if my dad doesn't make it back? i can't take care of beth without him." maggie turned to marcella with a frown of worry and sadness.
"you won't have to do it alone, mag. and rick and glenn will bring your dad back, i know they will." marcella reassured the slightly taller woman, taking her into a hug afterwards.
"thankyou for doing everything you have for beth." maggie spoke up after a while of comfortable silence as the two stared out to the fields.
"i'll always do what i can for you and your family, you know that." marcella assured the girl who laid her head on her shoulder.
"i love you, marc. you know that, right?" maggie looked up to marcella who gave her a small smile.
"hey, don't go all soft on me." marcella joked, nudging maggie who let out a laugh. "but seriously, i love you too, maggie." the woman who hasn't felt this love or friendship since pre apocalypse finally returned.

it was later now, the sun beginning to set as the group waited anxiously for rick, glenn and hershel to return. however marcella, having been watching lori closely since her strange request from andrea, figured that maybe the older lady was done waiting. so when marcella noticed lori hastily walking towards a car, she decided to take action.
