I stand by the docks unable to contain my excitement. Today is the day that the Dragonflies are reunited. I have looked forward to this day ever since they left.
It has been a couple of months since the battle against the Equalists and a lot of things have happened. Well, maybe not a lot, it just feels like a lot to me. The city have disbanded the council and have instated a president to have control of the city. He seems nice enough from the few meetings I've had with him, so I have to believe that the city will be in safe hands. And without any threats against the city and my friends safety, I've really been able to work on myself. Bolin has helped me a lot and somehow we've managed to become closer than ever. We spend basically every day together either talking or training, and together we managed to find some new members for the Fire Ferrets after Mako and Korra left the team. I've tried working with Bo's new teammates, but they just don't hold the same level of greatness that Mako and Korra hold. I'm sad for Bolin that he hasn't got a great connection with his team, but I am kind of glad seeing as they were the ones to knock down the Dragonflies last year.
A large ferry arrives at the docks and a smile spreads across my face as I watch the passengers get off one by one. I stand on my tiptoes attempting to look over the crowd of people and I soon replace my smile with a grin at the sight of Hani and Bamir talking to one another. They're finally here.
I quickly make my way through the crowd ignoring the looks I get from people that recognise me. Bamir is the first to look in my direction, and as soon as he does he slaps Hani's chest and grins. They both start running towards me and we collide into a group hug.
"You guys are finally back!" I say as I hug the two tall men tightly.
"I hope you weren't too bored without us." Bamir smirks as we pull out of the hug. I laugh and cross my arms.
"Bored? Have you not heard about what's happened in Republic City whilst you've been gone?" I scoff. The two share a look and raise a brow at me.
"What's happened whilst we've been gone?" Hani asks sounding a bit concerned.
"I'll tell you guys all about it over some food. You both must be starving." I reply and Bamir smiles.
"I sure know I am." He says which makes me laugh. "And I know I'm not going to be the one buying." He adds. Ah, yes, our bet. The bet we made the day they left stating that the person who hadn't been able to learn a new bending skill had to buy lunch.
"Oh, yeah?" Hani asks wearing a smug look. "Well, I'm not either because this guy can heal." He says as he points his thumbs to his chest proudly. My eyes widen and my lips part in shock as a small laugh leaves my mouth.
"You can heal?" I ask. He frowns at me and his hands drop to his side.
"Is it really that hard to believe?" He pouts.
"Yes." Bamir says causing Hani to glare at him. However his glare doesn't stay long before he smirks.
"Okay, let me demonstrate." He says. He raises his fist and punches Bamir in the arm strongly causing the earthbender to yell.
"Ouch! What the hell man." Bamir groans as he rubs his arm. Hani doesn't reply, he simply bends some water from the sea below the docks onto the man's arm. I watch with wide eyes as the water starts to glow and Bamir stops groaning.
After a second longer, Hani drops the water and looks at Bamir with a smug look. Bamir blinks a couple of times as he moves his arm around.
"You can actually heal." Bamir breathes as if he were having a hard time understanding it. To be fair, I was too. Hani has always been such a terrible healer.
