Bolin's P.O.V.
I lie on Ulazu's bed holding onto her tightly as I watch her sleep. I had hardly slept at all last night as I spent most of the time making sure that she was okay. Seeing her so upset last night hurt me in a way that I never want to feel again. She has given up, but I'm not giving up on her. She can figure out heat bending, I know she can. She's stronger than she lets herself believe.
I hear a faint knock on the door and I slowly unwrap my arms from my sleeping girlfriend. I quietly move off the bed and open the bedroom door. I smile slightly when I see Korra and Asami standing on the other side looking at me with concern. After Ulazu begged Korra to take her bending last night I held her until she cried herself to sleep. I told both of them that I'd stay with her to make sure that she was okay during the night. Neither one really wanted to leave her after seeing her in the state she was in, but they agreed thinking that she needed a good rest.
"How is she?" Asami asks. I open the door wider so they can see her sleeping soundly on the bed.
"She's still asleep." I say as I look at her. I chew my cheek anxiously as I watch her body rise and lower as she sleeps peacefully.
"Did anything happen after we left?" Korra asks and I shake my head.
"No, she's just been sleeping." I say. I sigh and look back to them. "What are we going to do? We can't just let her give up on herself." I ask.
"I know. We have to do something, but I don't know what." Korra sighs and peers around me to glance at Ula.
"Maybe we should talk to Suyin and find out what she said? Maybe something triggered her heat bending." Asami suggests.
"That's a good place to start. She'll be having breakfast right now. We should go speak to her." Korra says. Her and Asami turn to leave the room, but they stop when they realise that I'm not following.
"Bolin, you're not coming?" Asami asks. I hesitate as I look over my shoulder to Ula.
"I-I can't just leave her. What if she wakes up?" I ask.
"Doesn't she get really tired after heatbending?" Korra asks and I nod keeping my gaze on my sleeping girlfriend. She looks so peaceful, if you hadn't of seen her hours ago you would never have guessed that there was something upsetting her. "She'll probably still be asleep when you get back. She needs the rest." Korra carries on. I sigh knowing that she's probably right. After the amount she must have heatbended last night she'll most likely be asleep for a while longer.
"You're right. Let me just write her a note just in case. I don't want her to wake up alone after what happened." I say as I quickly make my way across the room. I snatch up a pen and a sheet of paper and quickly write her a note. I place it on the bedside table before planting a kiss to her head. She doesn't wake, but she shifts slightly in her sleep. I admire her for a moment longer before heading back to Korra and Asami. "Okay, let's go." I say.
We walk through the corridors quickly until we reach the large dining hall and we are immediately met with eyes on us. Mako, Suyin and Opal look up as we enter and I can see a suspicious look form on Mako's face when we don't make any move to sit down with them.
"Suyin, can we ask you a question?" Korra asks as she takes a step further into the room. Suyin looks up with a smile on her face.
"Of course, have a seat." She replies as she signals to the free chairs. Asami and I share a look, but we soon follow as Korra goes to take a seat. I sit next to Mako as Korra and Asami sit on the opposite side of the table. Mako raises his brow to me to ask me what's going on, but I stay focused on Suyin.
