I pace anxiously in the hut I am staying in whilst in the South Tribe. Bolin and Asami sit on the bed in front of me watching me closely. I know I can't run from the meeting with Unalaq. Asami has her own meeting today to gain funding for Future Industries, so it makes sense for me to approach Unalaq today whilst everyone is busy. But I can't help but worry about what he's going to speak with me about. What if I do something wrong and it gets back to my mother?
"Ulazu." Asami says trying to catch my attention. I mumble as I bring my fingers to my mouth and chew on them nervously, continuing to pace.
"Ula. It's going to be okay." Bolin says. I turn to them, but allow myself to pace.
"What could he possibly want to talk to me about? If it's not to do with the attacks from the spirits, then what? What could I possibly do to help him?" I ask.
"Whatever it is, I'm sure it's nothing bad. You don't need to overthink it." Asami says trying to calm my stress.
"I know, since when do I overthink? I feel like that's all I do now." I sigh. Bolin laughs gently and stands up, walking towards me.
"No, you have always overthought everything. You just talk about it more now." Bolin says. I stop pacing and look up to him.
"I do. I talk more. Why do I talk more?" I ask and he laughs again as he places his hands on my shoulders.
"I don't know, but I'm glad you're not bottling it up anymore." He smiles as he looks at me. I sigh again and smile. He has a weird effect on me, I've never met someone who can calm me so easily like he can.
"Right, okay. I should go." I say and move away from Bolin's touch. I turn to Asami who has been watching us with a smile on her face. "Good luck, Asami." I add before racing out of the hut towards Unalaq's ship.
I walk onto the ship and I'm guided towards Unalaq's meeting room. The man opens a large door allowing me to see the large room with Unalaq sitting at a large table.
"Princess Ulazu wishes to speak with you." The man says and I walk into the room. Unalaq looks up from what he is doing as I walk towards him.
"Princess Ulazu, I'm glad you're available to speak with me now." He says which annoys me.
"I'm sorry, Chief Unalaq. I thought it would be better to talk when we do not have any distractions." I reply and he chuckles.
"I guess you're right. Please, take a seat." He says and signals to the chair by him. "You may leave us now." He says to the man who brought me here. He bows and walks away leaving me alone with Unalaq.
"So what did you want to speak with me about?" I ask and he puts his pen down and gives me his full attention.
"I want to form an alliance between the Northern Water Tribe and the Fire Nation." He says jumping straight to the point.
"An alliance?" I question.
"I feel as so both the Fire Nation and Northern Tribe would benefit from joining together. The power we would have is greater than any power in the world." He says. I watch him closely. Why is he searching for extra power? From what I've learnt from my mother and Grandfather people form alliances before they strike war. He's up to something.
"As much as I would like to consider your offer, I cannot. If you are searching for an alliance you should be speaking with Fire Lord Izumi." I state. He chuckles again which creeps me out slightly, but I know it wasn't meant to be creepy.
"You are going to become Fire Lord, you have more power in this decision than you think." He says.
"Oh, do I?" I scoff.
