I let my eyes open slowly and I inhale deeply through my nose. The first thing I notice as the light shines onto me through the window of the airship is that I'm no longer in pain. Korra must have healed me, but how did she heal me without me realising? Did I pass out? I move my head allowing me to take in my surroundings slightly. I seem to be alone, which makes me wonder how long I've been asleep for. However, the early morning sun tells me that it couldn't have been longer than a few hours.
"Hey, you're up." I hear a voice behind me.
"Gawh!" I jump and find myself falling off the sofa that I was lying on. I groan softly as I hear laughter from behind the sofa. My heart flutters as I recognise the laughter to be the one I love so much. I look up to see Bolin walking towards me, holding his stomach as he laughs.
"I don't think I've ever made you jump before." He laughs and I frown as I sit up.
"Make the most of it whilst you can, because that is never happening again." I say as I glare at him which only makes him laugh more. He crouches in front of me and takes my hands. He pulls my body closer to his and my eyes widen as Bo's face is suddenly right in front of mine. His laughter stops immediately and he smirks when he sees my shock.
"I guess we'll see." He says as he leans in. His breath skims over my mouth and my eyes flicker from his eyes to his lips nervously. My heart beats against my chest as I look up at him, waiting for him to press his lips against mine. "We'll see." He mutters quietly. He draws back and I feel myself breathe again not even realising that I was holding it in. I blink a couple of times unsure about what to do with myself. I become flustered and I notice Bo smirk even more when he sees that my face is growing red.
"Oh, were you expecting something?" He asks as he raises his eyebrow, keeping his eyes on me, watching me closely.
"No, I have no idea what you mean." I reply. I turn my head away from him and look around. "Where is everyone?" I ask. I can feel his gaze remain on me as I keep mine away from him, too scared to look back at him. I've never yearned for him so much before and I'm not sure what to do about it.
"Tenzin took the airbenders to the Northern Air Temple, Mako and Asami are in the control room, and the rest are outside. How are you feeling?" He asks and I turn back to see that his smirk has gone, being replaced with a small smile.
"I'm feeling great actually. Shall we go join them?" I ask as I take my hands out of his and stand up. He pouts and stands up, quickly taking my hand again. He closes the distance between us and brings his other hand to the side of my face before pressing his lips against mine. I smile as soon as he kisses me and I let my free hand rest against his chest. I guess he wanted to kiss me as much as I wanted to kiss him.
He squeezes my hand and I feel his tongue lick against my lower lip, igniting a fire in the pit of my stomach. I nervously allow him access and instantly I feel a whole new feeling consume me as our kiss grows more passionate. His hand moves to the back of my head and he tangles his finger in my hair. His nails graze over my head sending goosebumps over my body and I sigh happily into the kiss. I feel him smile against my lips and the fire within me increases.
Bo draws back and looks into my eyes as we both breathe heavily. A small nervous laugh slips from my lips due to the fact that we have never kissed that intensely before. Being with Bolin still terrifies me, yet I still love every second with him. He caresses my cheek gently and moves his head back so that he can look at me.
"You're so beautiful." He says and I roll my eyes at him. I tug on his hand and guide him towards the exit.
"You're beautiful too, Bolin. Now, come on." I say as I give him a quick kiss on the cheek before pulling him out of the airship towards our friends. I watch as Korra throws a ball using her airbending for Naga. I smile as the morning air gently blows through my hair and Bo and I walk hand in hand towards the pair.
