The doors to the locker room open and I look up from my seat to see Hani and Bamir enter. They stop walking as they see me and I can see how startled that are to see me here. After running from the White Lotus, I thought I'd just hang out in the locker room until the match started, mainly because I knew no one would come here. It's really pathetic, I know, but I can't help it. I'm too scared to face my mother.
"Ulazu, how long have you been here?" Bamir asks as the two walk into the room.
"An hour or three." I reply. The two share a look before Hani moves to his locker and Bamir sits down next to me. I turn to him and he looks at me with pursed lips.
"Are you okay?" He asks me gently. I nod my head and look down.
"Yeah, I'm just trying to avoid my problems." I say with a small laugh. He smiles and takes my hand in his. My eyes widen slightly as I look back at him feeling confused about what's happening.
"You want to talk about it? Because I'm here for you, Princess." He says quietly. I blink a couple of times. His gaze on me feels so intense that I'm not sure what to say under it. I take my hand out of his and smile.
"Thank you, Bamir. But I'll be okay." I say before standing up and moving away from him. I notice Hani watching from the corner of his eye as I make my way towards the other side of the locker room. Bamir stands up and walks to his locker; I can see Hani whisper something to him, but I don't care to try and listen in. I'm too confused by Bamir. I told him that I didn't want to start anything with him, I don't know why he's acting like that.
"Fireball, you ready?" Hani asks bringing me from my thoughts. I nod and walk over to them, clearing my throat as I put my mind into the match.
"Yeah, you guys remember the plan?" I question as I look at them. Hani puts his arms around me and Bamir as he pulls us into a group hug.
"Let's pick them off." Bamir smirks.
"Let's knock down that firebender." Hani grins.
"And let's get to the semi-finals." I say pushing a determined smile onto my face.
We pull out of the hug and start walking towards the ring. The crowd cheers loudly as we enter the blinding light. I take a deep breath as I straighten my posture and walk towards the centre line.
"The first match of the quarter finals is kicking off with the strength of the White Falls Dragonflies!" The commentator exclaims through the speakers. The crowd cheers loudly and faintly amongst the roar of the crowd I hear my name being chanted. I guess Varrick was right about the crowd liking me. We stop at the centre line and I watch as our opponents start making their way into the ring.
"And their opponents, Golden Temple's Tigerdillos ready to see if they have what it takes to bring them down." The commentator yells resulting in the crowd cheering enthusiastically. They reach the centre line and I look up at all three of them with a glare on my face. I notice their smirks as they look down at me which makes me growl angrily. Their smirks are about to be smacked off their faces.
The bell chimes and we all begin bending. Like planned, we all start bending at Josei. His eyes widen as each element slams into him forcing him back into zone three.
"What an explosive start with Josei already clinging on to zone three. I have never seen an attack that fast! This is going to be interesting, folks." The commentator shouts through the speaker. Bamir and I bend our elements again at Josei, which manages to push him off the ring.
"Josei is down! These Dragonflies are working as a tightly knit unit tonight!" I hear over the intense crowd. I glance over to my teammates and I twitch my head towards Haka their earthbender. The two nod and we start our assault on him. He sees our attack coming and moves swiftly around each element. He bends a series of discs towards us and I hear a groan as one of them smack into Hani. I quickly move out of the way as water comes flying towards me and I bend fire towards Haka. He struggles to cling on and ends up falling back into zone two. However, as he falls back, so does Hani.
