Two Days Til the Backlander Leaves
"I'm going with you on the mission to scatter the cosmo stones." Majung and I had just barged into the D-Lab and the Ancients gave me a bewildered look.
"-and that's how a child is born." Clearly the Ancients were busy with a very important talk before we had come in.
I stood there immobilized in embarrassment when I finally recovered all I could say was, "Sorry, this is the wrong place." With that I fled the lab and went to go drown my embarrassment in my room. After about an hour, I got a ping from the Ancients that if I wanted to talk about the mission they were available now. Quietly I headed down to the D-lab and this time knocked on the door, a thought I should've had before.
"Come in." One of the Ancients called and I cautiously opened the door. Entering, I begin talking.
"Sorry about before. We definitely shouldn't have just barged in."
"No, it's fine. It would've been smart to have locked the door in the first place. Anyway, what is it that you two wanted to discuss?"
"We wanted to join you on the mission to scatter the cosmo stones."
Mrs.Ancient raised her eyebrows at me, "Why?"
"To be honest, I just think that with this mission I'll be able to get back into the field. I think that'll help me and I want to learn to control the Black Cosmo Stone's powers. You never saw what happened when the Space Pirates were capturing me, but I lost complete control. What happened during that time was scary, to put it lightly." I glance aside.
"You can come. But you'll have to take a physical exam before so that we know what condition you're in."
I tensed, "If I'm not in a good condition will I not be able to come?"
"Well, not exactly. We'll still take you but you'll be forced to stay home until you're healed enough to participate."
"Cool," I fiddled with my fingers in nervousness as I headed to the medical bay to get the exam. Once I arrived, I was greeted by Seth.
"Sit down on the exam table and we'll begin." It took about an hour and a half as my physical condition was discovered to be worse than expected. According to Seth, I was incredibly sleep deprived, unhealthily skinny, and some of my wounds had reopened and were on the verge of becoming infected. In short this was a big oh no situation.
