It's been a week since we all got our partners. Everyone else's partners seem perfectly content with them. However, Majung seems to get more cross with me each passing day. He's not disobedient per say, he's just not friendly or happy with me. He's more tolerant of me than anything. I've tried to make him like me but nothing seems to work. On top of that the thoughts in my head keep getting louder, scarier, more controlling. It always barks at me like I'm it's pet, I keep getting headaches as well. Everytime I get headaches or I hear the voice in my head, Majung comes up to me, to keep an eye on me. I don't know if it's his protectiveness of the others, me, or just plain caution. Whatever it is, it's somewhat warming considering our usual relationship.

I woke up this morning, sore after going through a simulation with Majung the day before. We've all been training with our partners to build up bonds and to prepare ourselves when we have to go on missions. I get out of bed and stretch, hearing a pop in my shoulder, and feeling even more sore. They say stretching is good for you, I think that's a lie. Sable trots next to me as I walk past the dog bed Majung sleeps in, and walk into the bathroom. I pick up my toothbrush and groggily start to  brush my teeth before I hop into the shower and get dressed. After drying myself off, I pick up a white tank top, black pants, and a black leather jacket. I throw that on and descend down the stairs. I don't have any duties today, which is nice but I still like to get ready early, just in case something happens. I notice that the bowls for all the dinos and our regular pets are empty, so I refill those just as Jelly, Guava, their dino partners, and Majung make their way down the stairs into the kitchen. Jelly and Guava have meal duty today, I give them a greeting before letting them deal with making breakfast. They chatter with their dino partners, their stones help translate the dino's thoughts.

I turn to Majung, "Do you want to train? There's nothing much to do right now, so I figured maybe you'd want to do something productive?"

Majung huffs, "That's fine." The response comes in from my dino bracer as a quiet audio message.

I nod and smile towards Jelly and Guava, "Give us a call when breakfast is ready!"

Guava threws me a thumbs up, "Will do!"

Majung and I walk into the basement before being teleported to the lab. We walked through the lab, by now I could walk around without getting lost. We walk into the training room and I open the panel nearest to the door to start the simulation. The panel hisses open to and allows me to type in the simulation code. Simulation droids appear behind me.

I roll up my sleeves as tap a button recalling Majung into a card, "Dino slash!" I say as I swipe the card through the slit in the dino bracer. He rematerializes in dino mode. He charges towards the largest simulated bot. Meanwhile I fight out two other ones, I duck under the droids' punches and the droids end up punching each other. I do a backwards roll and jump up to my feet, giving the droid to my left a good roundhouse kick. I back up as the other droid closes it's distance towards me, I shuffle one foot behind the other, bending my knees slightly, and raising my fists near my face. Lasing out quickly, I land a few good hits before the droid's hand collides with my shoulder. The sharp sting of metal on skin makes me cry out loud, and before I know, Majung is against the wall, the droid withering with static at the horn that has plunged through it's torso. He pulls his horn from the droids body before turning to another droid, I call out to him saying 'thank you'. He turns back to me and gives me a curt nod. I run up to the next droid, and jump, bringing my hand together into a giant fist, and bringing it down upon the shoulder of the droid. It's body moves downward at the impact, and I take that chance to grab it's head and bring it to crash upon my knee. I push it away and it slowly regains balance, it stands up tall and launches itself at me. I bring my hands to protect my face, I unknowingly close my eyes to brace myself for the impact. I feel no push back and I open my eyes, slightly confused. I see a black barrier in front of me, impenetrable to the bot swiping at it. I slowly lower my arms to see if that will lower the barrier. It doesn't and the voice in my head speaks again.

"Well that was pathetic. I honestly expected more from you after watching you deliver all those nice strikes. And yet you didn't think to look behind you." I feel the voice all around me, like it's a wolf circling a bunny.

"I- I didn't think there was anything behind me," I furrow my brows and look behind me, there was indeed another droid right behind me, also swiping at the barrier.

"Of course you didn't think it was there! You didn't bother to even glance behind you. Have those lessons with that little robo butler not teaching you anything?' It's talking about the lesson we all received from Simon in self defense and ass kicking. It's taunting the way it's talking to me and I can feel a slight anger and shame at it's brazen tone.

"People forget things sometimes." I say trying to brush the voice off, "Can you get rid of that now?'

"Hmmm. Fine I guess.' I can feel it roll it's eyes If it even has eyes.

The barrier drops and I realize that I was not in fact ready for the droids to start striking me I tried to dodge but one kicked my legs out from under me. I tried to get back up but a metal hand pushed my head to the floor, no doubt preparing to break some bone in my body.

"You know, I wouldn't have had to put the barrier up if you didn't put the bots on threat." I could almost see the displeased frown. Threat mode was to protect from invaders, the robots would do their best to inhibit their opponents.

"Threat mode? I didn't put it on threat mode!" I can feel the shame from the lie inside and I try to push it away as a falsity. But I know it's true, I did put it on threat mode.

"Oh don't play with me. You know I'm inside of you, I can feel everything you feel, in fact i'm part of it. You put the simulation on threat mode because you wanted to get hurt. You're looking for an excuse to get hurt, but guess what? You can't get hurt because your friends won't allow it. And neither will the D-Team, and neither will that Majungasaurus. And most of all, I won't permit it because in the end, I know you're hurting but I can't allow you too."

The barrier's thrown back up and I feel slightly confused. Why would this voice, whose shown no interest in my safety, be worried about it now. Before I can speak to it, I feel like I've been thrown out of my body. I see everything, even my own body, through a clouded black glass. I see my body get up and the barrier shatter, as I quickly dart past the droids and stab them in the backs with daggers made out of some dark material. My body flies past every droid and easily dismantle them with a collection of sharp objects ranging from dagger to broadswords. However, I notice my eyes are off, their pitch black, an emotionless void. I'm still confused but I catapult back into my body as Simon opens the door to the training room. My hands don't have daggers of darkness anymore and I can see in the reflection of a massacred bot that my eyes are back to their normal color.

"Miss Light, breakfast is ready." Simon says, as he turns off the simulation. I hope he didn't see what mode it was in. I quickly revert Majung back to his chibi form and follow Simon out of the training room. Majung seems to want to distance himself from me again, I don't raise any objections with him.

"Did you enjoy my little show?" The voice asks in a cruel manner.
