It's been a few weeks of training and sparring but today is my first mission with the Avengers. Even though they're not my usual group, I'm happy to be active in the field again. I was getting restless, in fact I'm pretty sure the only reason that I'm going on this mission is because I keep pacing around the entire tower and getting on Tony's nerves. Apparently pacing makes him nervous and on edge, took a mental note of that the first time I realized it so that I could annoy him. The mission? Well Rogers tells it the best.

"SHIELD recently reported missing tech from one of their bases in New Jersey-"

"Eck Jersey." I mutter, Steve gives me an exasperated look before continuing.

"They suspect AIM took it and with a little digging they located the AIM vehicle that will be shipping the tech off to their base. We're going to intercept the vehicle and steal back the tech. Questions?"

Loki flashes me a mischievous smirk before raising his hand, "Why exactly are we handling this? I thought world threatening matters were more our speed." We'd become sort of like friends, basically we annoyed Tony together a lot. Not on purpose usually, our presence seemed to irritate him.

"Because Helmet Head, the tech they stole is mine that I gave to SHIELD thinking that they had the guts to protect it." Tony groaned while rubbing both his hands over his face.

While we waited in the aircraft to get to our destination, Loki sat next to me. I ignored him for a while since being in aircrafts gets me kinda nervous now. He eventually got me to talking, we mostly talked about powers and illusions.

"Watch and learn." He set his gaze on his brother who was eating a poptart a few feet away from us. He moved a digit to beckon the poptart towards him, to my surprise the poptart flew towards him and he caught it with ease.

"Loki!" Thor chided, grabbing his poptart back. I watched him sit back down to devour it with a chuckle.

"Your turn, darling."

I flushed slightly at the nickname before materializing a few black spheres in my palm. They danced peacefully in the air and soon I started to move them around us, they orbited us like planets.

"Impressive."

"That's the prettiest thing these powers can do." I said as I gathered them up and made them disappear.

We arrived above our target a half hour later and as Thor and Iron Man jumped out of the plane. I figured out that I hated heights.

"Can you fly?" Steve asked, shoving on his mask.

"Um, no? Not to my knowledge." I was standing near the exit door, however I didn't think I was close enough to get pushed out into the air. Then again the Hulk's body mass is big enough to shove you out when he pushed past you to leave. "GOD DAMNIT!!" I screamed as my body fell from the plane.

"Stop screaming, I've got a lesson for you." I was pulled into my mind by a familiar voice

I thought we were done with that lesson's crap."

"Yeah well lesson 101, lessons never stop. Lesson 102 is that if you imagine that you're a bird soaring through the skies you can be one."

"What fake witch sites have you been on?" Regardless I tried, I imagined that I was a bird and that the wind was blowing through my feathers.

    "Open your damn eyes."

I opened my eyes to find that I had sprouted wings made of dark material, I tried to get control of them but I found that I was just reaching the ground at a more alarming speed.

"Oh my- Just calm down before I do it." Surprisingly that really motivated me and I slowed down my fall and was able to fly down.

One rough landing later, I found Iron Man blasting into a truck that probably held the tech. I started running towards the truck as it came to a skidding halt and the driver and passengers stepped out. Without a second though, I used my running start to give me a boost into the air. I opened up my wings again and used them to fly low to the ground as I started to shoot black spheres at the AIM goons.

Drop the wings, you're gonna run out of fuel quicker with them."

Heading that advice I dropped down and launched myself at another AIM goon, materializing a large sphere that I brought down on his head. It wouldn't kill him but at least it would knock him and a few others out, I remembered that the last time I used this on some training dummies they were knocked back a few feet. Simon had said that if they were human they would've been knocked out.

"Hey! Anyone want to help me out?" Iron Man was currently crouched behind a fallen over vehicle as he tried to stay out of the line of fire.

"I got ya!" I rushed over and used another blast to knock the soldiers away. "What happened?"

"Tech disrupting blasts." Was all he said before I grabbed him and carried him towards the plane which had landed about 20 feet away since most of the soldiers had either run away or were unconscious. I set Stark down in a chair and helped the other Avengers load the tech into the plane while his suit rebooted.

When we started heading back towards the tower, Tony turned to me and said, "Thanks for helping me back there. Maybe you aren't as bad as I thought you were."
