Chapter 2: Tears

"This is going to come as a shock to you but..." He paused and braced himself, "Your world was taken over by the Space Pirates. I assume you know them, the aliens who are after the Cosmo Stones."

"I can't say I'm not familiar with them. But how are they ruling the world? They can't even beat three 12 year olds" I smirked

"Well they are still aliens and their technology is more powerful than what's on this Earth. Besides, they have dinosaurs, which are pretty hard to defeat."

Hippocampus huffed, "Okay, that's great. But where are our parents? Why are we 6-7 years older? Would you care to explain that?!" She shouted the last part and I could tell she was anxious to find her parents. I looked to Rex, who seemed a little taken back.

"The Space Pirates released a formula in air. The formula, made kids 6-7 years older and it erased any memories from 3 days before. Which is probably why you don't remember us, "he looked away, " The formula killed anyone older than 17."

We all stood in shock, were they really gone? Hippocampus tried to hold in her tears but she inevitably broke down, along with her brothers. I hugged her tightly,trying to stay strong so I wouldn't worsen the situation, and looked to Rex.

"Where are their bodies"

"Their bodies are in the backyard, the Spectral Pirates also had a mind control program on the TV that made all the adults walk out of their house, dig a grave, and then the formula would kill them. I'm sorry"

I looked into his eyes and saw a pure sympathy and understanding filling his blue eyes. I remembered that he had gone through something similar, he, Max, and Zoe's parents had been captured by the Space Pirates. I smiled at him, "We can talk about this later, I'm going to go see my parents." With that I left with Hippocampus, Dragon, and Griffin. We were escorted to the exit by Simon and ,once out of the lab, we walked out onto the porch. We frantically searched through the backyard. We eventually found a mound of dirt towards the back left of the yard. We moved towards it and saw holes with the bodies of our parents. We wept, we all did, there was no way not too. The parents we loved, who had raised us to the people we were now. They were gone and there was no way of bringing them back. I fell to the floor,on my knees, tears rolling down my face.

I hear a voice say, "They aren't your biggest concern." The voice sounds familiar but I could ping as to who it belongs to through my sorrow. Even still, the foreboding nature of the words make my body shiver.

I don't know how long we stood there crying but we went back into the house when our eyes were red and puffy and stung. We agree that we would fill the holes and give them a proper burial. Once we got back into the house, I told everyone to make themselves at home and get some rest while I went to go fill in the rest of the blanks. I walked down into the basement, entered the secret code at the out of place Dinosaur King poster, and teleported down into the lab in a blinding beam of light. I searched around looking for Rex, Max, and or Zoe. Instead I ran face first into a masculine chest that felt very much like metal. I stuttered a sorry before looking up at the face of the chest. It's Simon and he gives me a polite smile before stepping back.

"Hello Miss Light, pardon me for bumping into you. Is there anything you require assistance with?" Simon's voice had a slight British accent along with a little bit of an electronic vibrate.

"It's not your fault at all, I wasn't looking where I was walking. But, since you asked, do you happen to know where one of the members of the D-Team is? I need to talk to them." I tried to muster a slight smile but I'm pretty sure that it looked pathetic.

"Of course, Miss Light. This way please," he started walking down the hallway, makes a left at the first separation of hallways, all with me at his heels. He stops in front of a door that leads to what looks like a lab and it has all of the D-Team and the Alpha Gang, plus their family. I recognize all of them immediately, off to one side of the group is the Alpha Gang, in the middle of the group are the children's parents, and on the opposite side of the Alpha Gang are the D-Team. Simon enters the room and I follow him in hesitantly. All eyes turn to me, their filled with recognition and pity, I immediately feel self conscious. I never did like to be the center of the spotlight.
