Sam and Dean sneak in through the front while I sneak in through the back. My veins were itching with anger and I was really hoping to get it out by chopping some heads. But to my dismay, there's only one vamp camping out in the nest.
I do the same thing I did during the day. Light steps and shallow breaths. I tip a vodka bottle over purposely to distract the only vamp in the joint and he takes the meat hook easily. Just like a little fishy would.
I sneak up behind him with an evil grin and watch him slowly turn around to face me. He's definitely a drunkard.
"Hasta la vista, baby." I wink before cutting off his head nice and clean. His body falls to the ground and his head rolls away, stopping at something's foot.
"You're a sick person." Dean says with a chuckle, looking down at the head by his boot.
"Thanks for pointing that out, captain obvious." I sass as I wipe the blood off the machete using the vampire's shirt. My attention shifts when I hear coughing and pained groans. "The human blood bags?" I ask Dean. He nods and rushes over to a cage that's boarded up and locked. Inside, I see people looking dirty and pale, some are even dead already. Blood loss no doubt. "How we're gonna get them out of here?" I ask as he uses a crowbar to break through the rusted metal clamps.
"Call the police. I'm sure they're looking for these people." He says, opening the gate. I nod and pull out my phone, doing just that while Sam and Dean help the people out.
After making sure each one is okay enough to stand on their own, and able to live until the police arrive, we get in the Impala and hurry down the road John planned on driving down. Considering there was only one vampire in the nest, the rest are probably outnumbering John right about now. And of course, I was right.
We reach the tree line with our crossbow and machetes just in time to see John get flung into his car. I wince at the sight and it seemed John wasn't getting up any time soon so Dean aims his bow quickly and shoots at the first vampire he can. I run out of the tree line just as he shoots another.
The female vampire in the cowgirl hat is the first to touch me blade, then I spin around and cut off the head of the other vamp Dean shot at. I whip back around to go for the leader.
"Don't! I'll break his neck." I immediately halt in my steps at the sight of him holding Sam in a headlock, choking him. Sam gasps for air, looking at me helplessly and it makes my grip on the machete tighten. "Put the blade down." The leader orders. I feel Dean move next to me cautiously. My grip on it doesn't loosen and he tightens his arm around Sam's neck. "Drop it!" He yells. I look at Sam again and see him struggle to breath. I cruse internally and raise my hand up in surrender, slowly putting the machete on the ground. "Your her, aren't you? The fair phantom." I cringe at the title.
"I'd really rather not be called that anymore." I smile fakely.
"You've killed a lot of my kind."
"Yeah, well, you kind is a disease, so..." I shrug. His face contours to one of anger and he tightens his hold even more. Sam starts to turn a different color and my hands fist up.
"Gotta say, you're not as pretty as they say you are."
"Let him go, and nobody else gets hurt." I say instead, voice deadly calm. He shakes his head.
"You people. Why can't you just leave us alone? We have as much right to live as you do."
"I don't think so." John says from behind him. The vamp turns around quickly and I look past him to see John pointing the colt right at his head. He fires, lodging the bullet in the center of the leader's forehead, his hold on Sam loosening as a result. I lean forward and yank Sam away from him and closer to me and Dean.
Blood trickles out of the gunshot wound as the leader stands there as stiff as a board. A flash occurs under his skin, exposing his bones, but it's so fast I thought I was just seeing things. After struggling to keep himself upright, he finally falls to his knees.
"LUTHER!" His vampire girlfriend screams brokenly. I stare, completely astonished, as another flash occurs before he finally falls flat on the ground—dead. I look up to John with wide eyes and see the beginnings of a smile.
"Kate, don't!" One of the two only living vampires warn, grabbing the girl we kidnapped and pulling her away from us. I turn to them and smile slyly, waving at them in goodbye. 'Kate' snarls at me but follows the younger girl back to the car. As they drive off, I look back at John and grin wildly.
"I can't believe it works. HAHA!" I cheer, laughing loudly. I walk over to him, jumping over the body. "Let me see that beautiful piece of machinery."
We drive back to the cabin, the Impala not far behind us. It's quiet, but content. Our bodies were thrumming with victory.
This turns the tide in our favor. With this gun, we actually have the upper hand. I told John, as soon as we got in the truck, I'm not leaving him, and neither are his boys. He needed us in order to survive this war. And to my surprise, he agreed with me.
"So, boys..." John starts as we enter the cabin. Sam and Dean already started packing the short amount of clothes they took out. I was smiling stupidly next to John, already knowing what he'd tell them.
"Yes, sir?" Sam asks obediently.
"You ignored a direct order back there." John states. I roll my eyes at his facade.
"Yes, sir."
"Yeah, but we saved your ass." Dean says. I raise my brows at him, then I look between him and Sam, wondering if they switched bodies or something.
"You're right."
"I am?" Dean asks.
"It scares the hell out of me. You two are all I've got. But after Jennifer crammed some sense into me and after seeing you three out there, I realized we are stronger as a family." Sam and Dean look over at me and I wink at them. "So...we go after this damn thing...together."
"Yes, sir." They say in unison. I start to grin as I watch them.
"Well, Johnny." I wring my arm around his neck. "I'd say you've got yourself your very own dream team."
