CHAPTER 24

SARRAH's P.O.V.

"Good bye, Teacher! See you again tomorrow!" I smiled at my students and did a small wave before I exited our classroom. On my way out, I almost collided with a bouquet of flowers.

"What the-" I looked at the person holding the flowers and I can't help but smile.

"Happy Birthday!" He greeted me with a big grin. I just shook my head as I accepted his flowers. "Thank you, Jinhwan-ssi!" His smile got wider and hugged me real tight.

"So do you have any plans today? How about dinner tonight?" He asked excitedly as we walk along the school's corridor. I glanced at him and smiled sadly. I hate to turn him down but I already made arrangements with somebody else. I want to spend it alone with him.

"I'm sorry-" I apologized but before he could let me finish my sentence he held his hand up and stopped me from talking. "I understand." He smiled but it didn't reach his eyes. I feel sorry for him but I know it is better this way. I don't want him to expect anything from me. I know that he helped me a lot to be where I am today, but gratitude is different from love. All these times I can't deny the fact the I have loved only one man. "Did you bring your car?" He asked out suddenly. I shook my head. "I'll bring you home then." He stated. I opened my mouth and was about to refuse again but he suddenly pouted and gave me a sad face. I can't help but laugh. He is really cute sometimes and I can't say no to him. I just shook my head as he lead me to his car parked outside.

After thirty minutes drive from our school where we both teach, we finally arrived outside of my house. "Would you like to have some coffee or tea first?" I offered but he just shook his head. "Nope, I don't want to delay your date." He winked at me and I giggled. "Thank you for understanding. See you around then." I smiled at him before I got off of his car, and before I close the door I looked at him. "Jinhwan-ssi, thank you for today. Thank you for everything." He smiled warmly at me before he drove off. I am really grateful with all his help. He helped me start a new life here in Australia after I left South Korea.

As soon as I open the door of our small house I was immediately attacked by a hug. I look down and saw my four year old son with a big smile on his face and my heart immediately melts. "Oh my! Hi baby, I miss you so much!" I hug him and showered him with butterfly kisses and he giggled. My day instantly went brighter and I felt energized just by seeing that beautiful smile on his face. "Happy birthday, Miss Sarrah!" I looked up and saw Mrs. Kim holding a cupcake with a small candle on top and I can't help but smile. "Don't forget to make a wish!" She reminded me and so I closed my eyes and made a wish before I blew the candle. "Thank you Mrs. Kim." I am lucky for having Mrs. Kim by my side. I don't know how I will be able to make it here without her. Raising a child alone is never easy. "Happy Birthday Mommy!" I smiled wider as I bowed down and picked up my son and kissed him on his cheeks. "Thank you, baby!" He kissed me back and I felt my heart became lighter. I am really lucky to have a very sweet child like him. "Mommy, you said we are going to go to the zoo today!" I faked a shocked face. "Oh really? Is it today?" I watch his smile fade away and he began to pout. "Yes mommy! You promised!"

Looking at him, my heart immediately melts. He reminds me of someone I hold dearly in my heart. I pinched his cheeks lightly and chuckled before I kissed him. "I'm just kidding, baby, of course we are going. Are you excited?" I asked and he nodded excitedly while clapping his hands. I felt my heart swelled with love. I love my son so much, although sometimes he also makes me sad because he is a spitting image of his father, I can't help but remember him, Min Yoongi, it's been five years since I left. I wonder how he is right now. I have no idea what he's been up to since I avoided all news about BTS like a plague.
