CHAPTER 26

SARRAH’s P.O.V.

I never had thought that today will be the day that I will be confronted by Min Yoongi with what I have done five years ago. His piercing gaze makes me nervous. I actually haven’t thought of what to say. Should I just tell the truth or lie again? If I tell him the truth would he believe me?

I closed my eyes as I took a deep breath to calm my nerves. I know my father is still around the corner which means that I must not be careless with my decisions and actions. I know Yoongi deserves nothing but the truth ,but, what if, the truth will hurt him more. I will never forgive myself if something bad happens to him. I tried to control my sob as I collect my thoughts.

“Will you answer my questions tonight or do you want me to spend the night here so you could answer my questions first thing tomorrow morning?” He asked sarcastically as he crossed his arms across his chest while staring at me. My eyes went wide with what he said. He is going to spend the night here? But there is no extra room and the couch is too small for him. Is he out of his mind? I am honestly scared not of him but of myself. I don’t trust myself. I am afraid I might do something stupid later on. That moment our eyes met a few hours ago, I know deep inside me that I want to be with him again, I want to feel his love once again because I still love him after all these years. Nothing has changed. I doubt if he still feels the same, after what I did.

I can feel his persistence. I don’t think that he will leave me alone until he gets what he wants but I am not prepared on what to say and so I tried to avoid his question by asking another question. “Why are you here Min Yoongi? How did you find me?” I thought it was just a weird coincidence but I was wrong. Nothing could have prepared me for what he said next. Shock is an understatement.

“Your father gave me your address and told me to bring you and my son back to Seoul.” He answered with no emotion. I want to scoff right at that moment. I think he must be joking. My father hates him, he was the one who forced me to leave Yoongi and now this? Does he expect me to believe that?

“You are joking, right?” I asked in disbelief, but he didn’t respond. My thoughts traveled back five years ago as to why I left him without any explanation.

Flashback……(5 YEARS AGO)…………………..

“Miss Park Sarrah, I am happy to announce that your DNA is a 99.99% match of the DNA of Mr. Kim Hyunbin.” The doctor announced happily as he handed the paper which contains the result of our DNA testing to Mr. Kim who is seated beside me with his wife. I am speechless. Although I already have a hunch that Mr. Kim was the one looking for a daughter, I still can’t help but feel surprise. But wait a minute, why did he said that it was his friend who was looking for a daughter when we first met. Why did he lie? I don’t get it.

I know that I should be happy and thrilled that I finally found my father but I am not. Mr. Kim gave me a light hug while Miss Lee gave me a small smile that didn’t reach her eyes. Now, my search is over a lot of questions suddenly came to my mind that I want to ask him so bad. It’s not that I want to bring back the past, I just want to know my history. Why did he leave my mom before? Are we part of a mistake he committed many years ago that is why he is ashamed of us and left us? Did he even know my mom was pregnant with me when he left her? My train of thoughts were broken when Mr. Kim spoke.

“Welcome to the family! So when are you going to move in? How about later? I am going to send some people to help you bring your stuff to our house.” Mr. Kim asked excitedly. Move in? I didn’t expect to move in with their family, I actually just want to fulfill my grandmother’s last will to meet my father but I don’t intend to stay and be part of their lives. I don’t see any reason to do so since he was the one who left us which means he don’t want us to be in their lives. I just want to talk to him and get some answers.
