CHAPTER 29

Continuation of flashback.......

I look at my watch to check the time. It's almost 7:00 PM. I sighed as I nervously watch the entrance of the restaurant I am currently in, waiting for the guy my father wants me to marry. I really don't want to do this, but do I have a choice? My husband's future is at stake here, or should I start calling him my ex-husband now? I felt immediate grief just imagining how Min Yoongi will take this once he sees those divorce papers again. He will be confused and mad as hell. 

"Sorry to keep you waiting." My heart almost jumped out in surprise when I heard a deep voice whispered in my hear pulling me out of my reverie. I look up and saw someone I never thought I would see again. "Jinhwan?" I still can't believe my eyes. He took the vacant seat right in front of me and gave me a mischievous grin. "It's been such a long time since we saw each other. How have you been?" He asked with a soft smile on his lips but I didn't answer, instead I gave him a cold look and asked him back. "What are you doing here? Don't tell me...." I trailed off as I wait for him to explain the whole situation. 

He took a deep sigh as he anxiously run his hand through his magnificent hair. I was momentarily distracted, I just realized that he is indeed good-looking but my heart already belongs to someone else. "Yes, I am your fiancé." I immediately frowned at his declaration. "Why? Of all people, why you? How did this happen?" I really can't imagine why father wants me to marry him. What connection does he have with my father? How did they meet? Why did my father choose him?

He licked his lips nervously as he put both of his hands in front of him gesturing me to calm down. "I really didn't like the idea, but my father threatened me that he will do everything in his power so that my license as a teacher will be revoke and just make me run our company." I just give him a cold stare. "You know how much I love teaching. I can't give it up." He continued which made me grimaced.

"And so you will just follow what your father wants you to do? You have no balls!" I mocked him. He looked offended. I know that he doesn't deserve it but I don't want us both to regret this loveless marriage for the rest of our lives. "What is the connection of your father and my father?" I asked trying to figure out the benefit my father could get once we marry. I know there is something. For the short period of time I was with my father, I learned that he will not do something unless he gains some benefit from it. 

"They are business partners and they are in the same political party. Marrying us makes their alliance a lot stronger. I believe your father is running for a position in the city government." He explained which made me sigh with frustration. "I know." I acknowledged. "Honestly, I lied." I looked at him with a baffled expression. What did he lie about?

"At first I am against this fixed marriage but once I knew that it was you, I agreed and I think you already know why." Jinhwan looked at me with such intense emotions. My heart skipped a beat. I am starting to feel uncomfortable. "You know I like you, even then when we were still teaching at the same school up to now." I can feel the sincerity with his words, but I can't accept him. I am already in love with someone else.

"You know I am already married, and I love him so much." I unabashedly told him the truth. "No! No! No! You don't have to apologize. I fully understand. But you know that you won't stay married to that guy for so long don't you? Our parents has strong connections. They will always get what they want." He muttered before he ran his fingers through his hair in obvious frustration. I agree with him. Even though I have money now, it is still not enough to overpower my father. "Is there anyway we could stop this marriage without hurting anybody?" The memories of last night when Mrs. Lee mentioned Yoongi flashback to my mind. I closed my eyes and and tried to calm my anxious heart.
