Once home, I sent Devon a text letting him know I got here safely, it was a fifty- fifty chance if he got the text with this area but if not, he would call Tim and find out if everything was good.

The next two days went by in a flash, the animals always kept me busy plus making sure the crops that I planted were growing just fine. I tilled up the garden barn dirt and added fertilizer for the winter months that would be here sooner than I wished.

"Sweetheart" I heard Devon whisper as he climbed into bed and pulled me to him, "hi baby" I whispered back and snuggled into him as I drifted back to sleep. I could always sleep better knowing he was home, and I was in his arms.

A few hours later I woke up to the sounds of him in the kitchen cooking and the smell of bacon in the air mixed with the aroma of coffee drifting into the bedroom.

Right then my stomach growled, I got up and walked into the kitchen, there was this perfect man in his night shorts and nothing else. His body was so damn hot, I swore he was built as a roman god at one point.

"Good morning sweetheart" he said as he pulled the bacon from the pan and onto the plate. He set it down on the table along with scrambled eggs and toast with orange juice.

I sat down and along with my breakfast was a cup of coffee, oh he was winning major points in my book with this. "I was thinking sweetheart, how about next week while I'm off we fly into town and order a bunch of baby stuff, and we can think about what we are going to do with the nursery" Devon asked while we sat and finished our food.

"That sounds great love, I was actually thinking how nice it would be to repaint that room and I was thinking something neutral, since we won't know what we are having for some time" I said getting up to do the dishes.

We spent the rest of the day working around the farm, the animals were running around out in the pasture while we cleaned their stalls and the indoor arena for them.

Devon would not let me do the heavy stuff which I was fine with, he did the cleaning and watering while I just did the feed. Standing at the opening to the pasture, I loved watching the horses run around enjoying themselves.

The goats were doing their little jumping and running around, while the pigs found their mud puddles to have fun in as well.

Watching them was my Zen most of the time, life was just simpler when you watch how animals behave. No stress or worries, they just enjoyed the moment.

Devon came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me, kissing the top of my head. "This is a beautiful place to raise our family darling" he said. I could not have agreed more.

The thunder started to roll in the distance, "better get the animals inside before the storm hits, if it's how Tim says it's going to hit, this one will be a bad one" I said calling out to the animals.

They all knew their names and once the lightning hit the sky and loud thunder cracked, they all came running into the barn. I shut the main door to the barn, so the animals were safe to wander around the indoor arena.

I left their stalls open so they could come and go as they pleased. Devon went around making sure they were all taken care of and that the barn was secure before we left and locked the barn door.

We locked up the garden barn also, we could not afford to lose those plants that were in there or let the place get destroyed.

Once inside the house the storm hit, out here in the middle of nowhere you see clouds in the distance or when you hear the first thunder even far off in the distance you better be seeking shelter.

Storms hit fast here and most times they are not the gentle little snow or rain falls, they can be deadly in a heartbeat if you are not careful. Even though it is the middle of the summer, we lit a small fire in each room.

Just to take the dampness out of the air, plus why not when there is a good thunderstorm raging outside, be inside with a simple fire going. We made dinner early and sat next to the fire and had our dinner that way.

It was a simple yet romantic evening between the two of us. We sat and talked about baby names. "How about this one, if it's a girl, you get to name her and if it's a boy, I get to name him" Devon asked.

Thinking about it for a moment, "one thing though, we both have to agree that the names will be realistic not one of those stupid made-up names or ones that can get a child teased" I said.

Devon agreed to it, and we set the dishes aside on the floor and we spent the next few hours making love right in front of the fireplace.

The next day we went out and checked to see if there was any damage, all the animals were great, as we opened the barn door to their pasture. The garden barn was fine also.

We could not find any damage from the storm, which was an exceptionally good thing. We went into the garden barn and as I was taking care of a few of the plants that were kept in there.

"Athena, are you good with me hiring a few hands around here now?" he asked, as he was bracing himself for an argument. "Actually, I'm good with it, I can't do much since the doctor wants me on light duty" I said looking up at him and I smiled.

"Really?" was all he asked. "Yes, really baby, I'm okay with it" I said and walked over and kissed him on the cheek as I went back to tending to my plants.

"Okay, I know a few guys that really need the work and I trust them" was all he said. I trusted Devon and I knew he just would not let anyone around this farm or me and our unborn baby.

"I will get ahold of them tomorrow when I go back to work and set it up to come out here when I have my days off" he said as he went to work and added the fertilizer to the soil for me.
