Chapter Seventeen

I decided since it was a beautiful day out that for lunch, I was making club sandwiches with iced tea and homemade French fries. I cut up some lemons so that way if the guys wanted lemon with their tea they could.

I had the music playing loudly that I did not hear the guys come in, I was busy dancing in the kitchen as I was washing the dishes that I dirtied making lunch so I would not have to worry about it.

I screamed when Tom came up behind me and tapped me on my shoulder, which got Derek and Darryle laughing. "That is not cool" I said with my hand over my heart laughing.

"Sorry Ath, even though we were enjoying the show, I figured you didn't want an audience" he said with a smirk on his lips. "Thank you for that" I said, as I grabbed the plates and set them on the table.

"I hope you guys like club sandwiches with French fries" I said as I set a couple plates down that had all the food on it, I also set the pitcher full of Iced tea and their glasses with a bowl full of cut up lemons.

They all dug in right away, "thank you for this, and it is so nice to have a delightful home cooked meal" Tom said as he waited till, I sat down, "you're welcome, it's the least I could do with how much you are helping me" I said as I grabbed a sandwich and started eating.

"Oh, by the way, tomorrow the guys will be here with the rest of the lumber and everything else for the house, if you guys know anything about it would you help out also, so that way maybe we can get you guys inside and comfortable earlier than planned?" I asked.

"Of course," all three said at once, which had me smiling. Lunch was nice and easy, we all sat around talking and eating and just relaxing.

"I also ordered furniture for the house, I hope you don't mind, the only thing is I have no idea what kind of bedding you guys would like, so I figure tonight after dinner we can sit and check out what you guys want, and I'll order it "I said as I finished my lunch.

"You really don't have to do all of that" Tom said looking at me, "I know but I want to, plus I love to decorate, and this will give me something to do" I said smiling at Tom.

All three agreed that after dinner we would sit around the table and look in the catalog for what they wanted, and I would get it for them.

After lunch, the guys went back outside to see what work needed to be done in the fields that were growing most of the vegetables.

After I cleaned up, I went outside to see about riding one of the horses. I grabbed the gear and put the saddle on the rack, checking over everything to make sure the tack was in decent shape so it wouldn't break.

I went out to the pasture and called my one horse that I know I can ride, and he will not throw me or get spooked by anything. When I got him from an auction, he never had a name just horse.

The stupidest thing I have ever heard, so that night while I stayed in the barn with him talking to him most of the night, since he was scared, and he was abused. I decided to call him Eternal.

He would whinny when I would call him that, so ever since that was his name.

I called his name and his head popped up knowing that we were going to go for a ride, he came galloping up to me and followed me into the barn. One wonderful thing is I did not have to tie him up to saddle him.

He would always stay standing still and let me do what I needed, so I spent a half an hour grooming him, then I saddled and bridled him. I climbed on top, and we walked out into the pasture.

He knew we would walk slowly so I could make sure things were secure before we headed out into the yard.

Once I knew things were good between us, I went and opened the gate. After shutting the gate, I climbed on top of him, and we started off at a walk. I decided to check the back fields where the guys were working.

It beat walking all that way, after a few minutes that back fields came into view, and I saw the guys checking the rows of plants. Devon did good on hiring these guys for me.

I stopped Eternal, and I watched the guys for a few minutes, Tom stood up and turned around, holy hell that man is going to drive my hormones into overdrive. As he stood up, he was like a god with the sun glistening off his golden toned body.

He waved and I waved back, smiling I urged Eternal back into walk, and we walked off into the woods following the trail that I made awhile back.

Walking in the woods was peaceful, I knew there was a small waterfall that filled a small pond where I would go swimming on hot days. The water never got warm, so you had a few minutes of swimming, but it was enough to cool off.

Once there I got off Eternal and lead him over to the water for a drink, I tied the reins to the saddle so if he wandered off, he would not trip over them. But this horse would always stay by my side.

One of the things I fell in love with this horse. I went over to the pond and took a drink, after I was refreshed, I took off my shoes and tied up my skirt. I loved wearing the gypsy style skirts, plus they were easy enough to ride in.

I stepped into the pond; the water was cold but as always refreshing to the touch. Standing there, Eternal picked his head up and snorted. I turned and saw Tom standing there watching me.
