A month has gone by, and we are now in July, Devon never did call and by the end of June I was okay with that. The brothers have helped me heal and kept me busy around the farm.
We have just another couple of months before winter sets in. The days are already starting to get a tad cooler. I moved back into my house and the brothers helped me get a new bed and some other miscellaneous items that I needed around the house.
Every month I see Doc. To make sure everything is going good with the pregnancy, Derek and Darryle have been great, they cannot wait to be uncles and have set up a playroom in their house for when the baby gets old enough to hang out with them.
Tom has changed but for the better I guess you could say, he has become more of a protector and stays near me for most of the day making sure I do not do too much and waits on me when I get tired easily.
We go for rides every day to our spot, I consider it his spot as well as mine near the waterfall. In town he goes to every doctor's appointment with me, Doc. Was concerned at first until I told him what went on.
Doc and Tom now talk about what it is going to be like with a baby and Tom wants to know everything that there is, he is reading books and taking a highly active role in this.
I still miss Devon, but Tom was right, there is an entire world out there and I should not miss anything. I know my feelings for Tom are still there, but I have not approached that subject yet.
I know he is also giving me time to heal, and he is just giving me time.
Still feels good though when we are together, he always makes sure I am taken care of no matter where we are. The crib and dressers showed up today and watching the three brothers put it together for me had me laughing.
After dinner we all went for a walk around the property, it was nice and relaxing. The garden barn was ready for the plants to start to be transplanted, the rainy season was coming up soon.
The animal barn was set with a ton of straw and woodchips for the winter, and the feed room was set as well. The hayloft was also set. The brothers made sure that they would have everything they needed to make sure everything ran smoothly.
With the baby's due date in December, they were not taking any chances on anything. I had a small generator brought in along with a tank for their house so that way they were set.
It took a lot of work making sure we were prepared for the winter months coming up, and for the next couple of months we knew it was going to be the wet season.
After dinner, the brothers went to take care of the animals, sitting out on my porch I decided to take a walk, I let them know where I was going and with my mug of coffee I decided to go to the waterfall.
I was sitting there for a bit before I heard footsteps, "Ath?" I heard Tom call out, "I'm over here" I called out to him. Tom walked around to the other side of the waterfall.
"How come you're over on this side?" he asked as he sat next to me, "this time of year you can see how the sunrays hit the mist exactly right and it glides over the flowers that show up for a few weeks.
Tom sat there and saw what I was talking about, it was a beautiful sight, after a bit Tom gently took ahold of my hand in his and I let him. I kept my hand in his and I could feel the tension fall away.
I knew he was taking a chance and I was letting him know that I was interested, in just a simple thing as holding hands I was ready. We got up and decided to go back to the house.
We walked hand in hand, and it felt good. Once at the house Tom started a small fire for me in the family room fireplace. "You up for a movie night?" he asked. "Always" I said with a smile and sat on the couch with a bunch of blankets.
Tom plugged in the DVD player to the big T.V. that he bought for all of us, and he sat next to me on the couch, I pulled back the blankets letting him know he could sit right next to me.
He slides over and wrapped the blankets around us, we cuddled and watched a comedy then a chick flick with romance. After the movies were done, Tom got up and was about to leave.
"Tom" I called over to him, he looked over at me, "thank you for everything, I don't know what I could have done without you" I said and walked over to him. I noticed he was standing still.
I got on my tiptoes, and he bent down just a tad for me, and I kissed him gently on the lips. He wrapped his arms around me and picked me up. I wrapped my legs around his waist.
"I would do anything for you my little one" he said and kissed me back, we stayed like that for a few minutes just kissing and exploring each other. "Stay with me?" I whispered between kisses.
"Are you sure you're ready for that?" he asked, I looked at him in his eyes "yes" was all I said, and he carried me to the bedroom where we spent the rest of the night exploring each other.
