Before I could say anything, Devon turned around to face the fire which broke the spell that was brewing between us. "Do you want hot coco or tea?" I asked with a shaky breath.

"Hot coco sounds good right about now" his voice was nothing more than a whisper, but I heard it loud and clear. I made us both a cup and brought it over to him.

"Thank you" he said as he took the cup from my hands. I sat down on the floor next to the fire, "thank you for taking care of everything outside, I really do appreciate it" I said looking at him.

"You were so tired, and I said I would gladly help where I could" Devon said as he sipped his drink walking towards the window. I knew it was starting to get late and I had the impression he did not want to really talk since he put his back on me.

I did not say another word just watched the fire for a bit. After my drink was done, I set it in the sink, taking the kettle and putting water in it so the chocolate would not stick to the sides.

I added more fire for the night and when I stood up, I looked over and Devon was still looking out the window, "well I'm going to head to bed, if you need anything let me know" I said.

He did not even turn around, "good night, Athena" he said barely above a whisper, "good night, Devon" I replied and turned and went to my room. I added a few more logs and took my pajamas to the bathroom and changed into them.

Once done I went back into my room and climbed into bed, laying there I could not sleep since thoughts of that man were running ramped in my mind. I grabbed my DVD player and turned it on to finish the movie I started earlier in the day.

I could hear Devon wash the dishes, he added a few more logs to the fire for the night and I saw him go into his room. He shut his door for a bit then he opened it just enough for the heat to seep into his room.

After my movie was done, I still could not sleep. I would blame it on my earlier naps but that was not the case. It had been a few years since I have been with anyone let alone look at another man.

But something about Devon just has my insides all worked up. "Oh, this is stupid" I whispered to myself, "he is not interested that way in me and I'm sure he is just would be passing time out here if that were the case" I added to my inner dialogue.

After a bit of tossing and turning I decided to get up and make myself a cup of tea hoping that it would calm my nerves enough to get at least a few hours of sleep.

Putting the kettle on since the stove still had a small fire inside going, I put the teabag into the cup and waited for the water to boil. Once the kettle started to go off, I poured the water and waited for the tea to steep.

After a couple of minutes my tea was ready, I added milk and sugar to it and went to the window, slowly blowing on it and taking sips. The snow had slowed down quite a bit outside.

So, it was the bigger flakes but steadily falling. It was so beautiful outside; it was so peaceful and magical all mixed into one. Leading against the window watching it snow I didn't hear Devon walk up behind me.

I saw his reflection in the glass as he walked up and no words were spoken, he wrapped his arms around me and rested his head on top of mine gently. I leaned into his embrace.

We stood there for what seemed like eternity, but I knew it was only for a few minutes. Silence developed around us like a blanket, unspoken words that didn't need to be said.

He loved his head and softly kissed my neck while holding me to his chest, I let out a soft moan, letting him know that I was allowing everything and wanting everything all at the same time.

Within a split second he turned me around and gently lifted my face to look up at him, he placed a kiss on my lips asking if this was what I wanted. I put my cup down and wrapped my arms around his neck and gave in to the kiss and the promise of what was to come.

We spent the night in my bed, exploring each other for the first time. He was gentle yet rough, a perfect mixture that I so desperately needed in my life that I never knew I needed but Devon seemed to sense.

We fell asleep wrapped in each other's arms, while the snow outside fell softly onto the ground wrapping everything in its embrace just as Devon and I were.
