Chapter Thirty-Eight

Tom and the brothers took Eric out to see what I had done with the place, and I am sure to spend some guy time with him, get to see how he is and such around the farm and my animals.

After they went outside, I went and took a shower, changed into my sweatpants and sweatshirt making sure I was comfortable. Doc said I would be for a while still, but I was feeling better by the day.

I checked on Destiny and she was sound asleep, I went into the kitchen and put the kettle on, I was in the mood for hot coco, once that was ready, I took my mug over to the couch and put on a sappy Christmas movie.

I grabbed my knitting and started back up on the blanket I was making for Tom, he thought it was for his brother's couch. Yes, I can be sneaky like that, if necessary, I thought to myself.

Halfway through the movie and Destiny was still sleeping I laid down on the couch and fell asleep. I did not hear the guys come in until the door slammed shut. I jumped right up.

"What the hell?" I asked irritated that the door was slammed and that it scared the hell out of me.

"Your man over there is an asshole" Eric growled standing there, I was confused until I saw the blood on his shirt sleeve, I got up and went over to him, "what happened and why are you bleeding?" I asked concerned.

"Tom didn't tell him how Eternity was like with new people" Derek said looking down. "Tom, you didn't, you know how dangerous that is" I said looking at Tom, I saw he did not care.

"Eric come sit at the table and let me take a look at it" I said, and Eric did as I asked.

I pulled up the sleeve and saw a good chuck almost taken out, but the skin was still in tacked. I went to the cabinet under the sink and grabbed my medical supply kit.

I cleaned out the wound and used some butterfly bandages to keep the skin together, "I don't think it needs stitches just yet, but I want to check it later on and see if I need to do that" I said as I wrapped his arm up in the bandage.

I remembered he healed quickly but still I was not going to risk anything while he was in my care. Eric sat there watching me with a look on his face. It looked like he was sad that all the time had passed between us.

"You know Ath, I'm not a bad guy, I remembered what we used to have, and I want a chance to see if that spark, we had back then still there somewhere" he said close to my ear when I was bent over his arm.

I froze and turned my head a little bit "well you know you went about it all wrong, maybe you should have come back to me all those years ago when you said you were going to" I said and stood up looking at him in those dark black eyes of his.

"I know I messed up all those years ago, and I want to right a wrong" he said standing up. I had to step back to look up at him, I smirked "damn you did grow up though, you were never this tall before" I said shaking my head and putting my stuff away.

Just then Mark and the rest of the council walked into the house. "Okay we need everyone's attention, Ath can you come here please?" Mark asked and I did. I went and stood beside Mark.

"The council has decided that since tomorrow is Christmas Eric shall stay here for one week till New Year's Day. That way it gives us time to watch what goes on and for Eric and Athena to see if there is still that matting spark. If not, Eric is to leave and no claims are to be made, if that spark ignites again well then nothing needs to be said" Mark said.

"Where is everyone going to be staying?" I asked looking at Mark confused, "all the guys will be staying in the other house, while you and Destiny will be here, there will be guards placed around your house and I know you are on bed rest so each one of the guys will be helping you around the house in shifts" Mark said looking at all the guys.
