Chapter Thirty

I woke up to being carried into bed by Tom, I snuggled into his massive chest, and I felt a rumble as he tried not to laugh as I sighed when I snuggled into him. He laid me on the bed and took off my clothes and then he kissed my stomach.

"Soon little one when you are here, I will always take great care of you and your mother, I love her more than life itself and I love you just as much" he whispered.

He looked up and saw me looking down at him and I opened my arms as he crawled into bed with me. We made love for hours that night, and afterwards we laid there in each other's arms, kissing and talking about what we want to do with the farm.

Living in Alaska has brought difficulties, but the best thing is it has brought me Tom and his brothers. I was lucky to have them in my life.

The next morning, I was awoken by the wonderful smell of coffee coming from the kitchen. I got up and made sure I was dressed in my robe, I walked out and stopped midway.

There in my house stood four men and two women who were as tall and built as Tom, well the men were, the women were just as tall and half as muscular, but they could still give one of these guys a run for their money.

Tom walked over to me, and put his arm around my waist, "Athena, this is the council, this is Mark, Derek, Steve, Luke, Lilly and Beth, these people are what make and keep our laws" Tom said.

I stood there for a moment not fully awake until my brain said oh shit. "Hi, sorry just waking up, can I get you anything?" I asked making sure my robe was tied around my waist.

"No thank you Athena, we appreciate that, but we just came when Tom here called about what has been going on, he informed us about Devon and that you are indeed with child?" Mark asked.

He must be the main one, "Yes I am pregnant, and I was with Devon, we were planning on getting married and preparing for our baby when he decided to run off. Tom and his brothers have helped me so much around here and Tom has stepped up to help me with the baby" I said standing there not sure what to say or do.

Mark smiled warmly at me, "may I?" he asked pointing to my stomach, "um sure?" I said unsure of what he was asking. Until he walked over and placed his hand on my stomach.

Mark looked down at me and smiled, "such a joyous occasion my dear, see our kind are unable to have children except a select few that we are granted to have, and here you are carrying a special child" he said and kissed my cheek.

Tom cleared his throat, "Father, you're confusing Ath" Tom said, "Father? Mark is your father?" I asked, Tom smiled "yes" was all he said as he stood back and watched the interaction between his father and me.

"His mother will be pleased that Tom has taken upon himself the role of being this child's father, and your soon to be mate, and we grant any more children that might be in the future" Mark said and pulled me into a hug.

"Welcome to the family my dear" he said and when he stepped back each one hugged me and welcomed me, they all were very warm and loving. Except when there was a knock at the door.

They all turned as one, I so would hate to be in their crosshairs. I went to answer the door, but Mark stopped me, "go have some coffee my dear, let me answer this" he said with a wink.

I smiled and nodded and went to the kitchen to get my coffee and stood next to Tom who wrapped his arms around me.

For the next two hours Mark and the rest of the council grilled Devon, while I sat on the couch comfortably watching the whole thing. At the end of it Mark and the council gave Tom and me their blessing to get married and to be mated and to have more kids.

Tom was announced to be the father of my unborn baby, Devon was stripped of all rights since he went against the council and their orders to meet me first before letting me know about them.

I posed no risk to their community and was welcomed in as one of them, Mark was excited to see the farm that I had built on my own, and what else I planned to do around here to sustain everything.

They were all impressed at what I had accomplished so far, "I can see remarkable things coming from you Ath, I am proud to have you as my daughter in law" Mark said as he hugged me again.

The rest of the council were happy with what I had done, and they looked forward to another visit when everything was in bloom next year, and to meet the new addition to the family.

Mark spent some time with his sons, and the other council members took Devon back with them and they forbade him to ever bother me again. I was sad in a way as Devon was the baby's true father, but with how he chose to be it was for the best.

I had a new man in my life that stepped up to the plate when he did not have to, I was forever grateful for these three brothers who walked into my life and stayed by myside and whom I consider my brothers and my husband and mate.

After Mark left and Derek and Darryle went to finish the chores, Tom and I went into our home. "You know Tom you never have moved your stuff in here, how come?" I asked.

As he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close, "because little one, you never asked me to live with you" he said.

"Well, if that is all that is standing in our way, will you move in with me?" I asked looking up at him.

"Of course, I will my soon to be wife, besides, I can't have our baby growing up thinking that dad did something wrong" Tom said and we both started to laugh as we went to get Tom's stuff and move it into our home.
