Lost Eric (4x09)

Maria/ Tes P.O.V

During the fighting, I was keeping a good eye on Sookie. I felt Eric nearby & he seemed calm. I didn't leave Sookie alone for long but broke away when I heard Pam trying to kill Tara. She back off when Bill swore to kill her. I also saved Bill from Holly & some guy. But our bigger concern was Sookie.

We ran after her & caught up to Alcide carrying her. Bill took her & brought her into the house. I calmed Alcide down before we entered the house. Bill had Sook laid on the couch & was trying to feed her. But, I could tell she wasn't drinking. Her heart was barely beating.

"Why did you?" Alcide angrily asked as Bill apologised for tonight

"Werewolf, I'm gonna need you to shut the fuck up!" Bill snapped

"Doesn't look like she's taking it." Alcide noticed as I went to her side

"That's because she isn't." Bill replied

"Does she even have a pulse?!" Alcide panicked

"Barely. Jesus christ." I cried as I held her hand

"Is there anything we can do?" He softened as he hugged me

"We can pray." Bill replied

"Werewolf & a vampire. Who's gonna listen to that." Alcide scoffed

"Bill move. Let me try." I said

He did as I knelt by her head. I grabbed my knife & pricked my finger.

"Maria, what the hell?" Alcide worried

"Dark magic. If this doesn't work, pray your asses off." I explained as I drew a snake on our foreheads

"Sanguis sanguinis mei. Sana animam meam et animam illius." I chanted

(Blood of my blood. Heal her life with my life.)

I kept going as the symbols glowed. Eventually, a red light tethered us. The lights began to flicker before cutting. Shadow men began to creep out from the corners of the room. I felt my heart slowing as my life began to ebb. Eventually, I passed out & collapsed onto the floor alongside her.

I came to a few hours later. Sook was panicked as she shook my shoulders. Alcide looked fearful while Bill tried to calm her down.

"Sook, sook. I'm fine. Stop shaking me." I groaned

"I thought you were dead dead." She worried as I sat up

"You haven't gotten me there yet." I sarcastically replied

"What the hell was that? Were you speaking Latin?" Alcide asked as he sat next to me

"Latin is my mother tongue. I used it to invoke a healing spell. Magic comes with a price. So to save a life, I had to give a little." I explained

"Christ. Let me get you something to eat." Alcide said

"Thank you." I said

"Where's Eric?" I asked

"About that." Sookie stuttered

"They took him." I pieced together

"I already have my men out looking for him. I'll get him back. I promise." Bill consoled me as Alcide came back with a tray of food

"Now that I know you & Sookie are all right. I'll go & join them to search myself." He informed

"Bill, be careful." Sook reminded 

"I will." He replied as he kissed her hand & left

Alcide saved the lecture while I ate. He kept checking my heartbeat & temperature. Once he was sure I was fine, he let me have it. He wasn't wrong that I shouldn't have kept Sook out of this. But, he was angrier that I nearly gave my life to save her. I could tell it was out of fear of me dying on him. I tried to calm him down but it wasn't working. I let him cool down as he stormed out.
