Maria/ Tes P.O.V

I had smelled Sook's blood. It was so strong which meant she was feeding Bill. But, her pulse was slowing. I had Alcide pull over & climbed over Tara to get out. I got to the door in an instant & threw open the back door.

Alcide tried to give me grief about the sun. But, he shut up when he saw Sook bleeding out on the floor & Bill covered in her blood. I went crazy, not even listening to whatever bullshite excuse. I grabbed him by the throat & started to slowly pull his head off. When he got terrified, I grabbed something wooden & jammed it just shy of his heart. With that, Tara & I kicked him out. My hit made him land against a tree.

"Do not fucking die on me Sookie. Do not die." Tara cried as we cradled her

Alcide drove us to the nearest hospital. He was gunning it as people honked him. I focused on her heartbeat as it faintly held on. He parked in the emergency entrance & called for help.

Tara opened the back as I scooped her up. The staff wheeled in a gurney which I dropped her in. They quickly headed for the ER & started CPR as we followed them in. But, a nurse stopped us by reception.

"She's going to be okay." Alcide tried to calm me as I angrily paced in the lobby

"She better. Or I'm going back to rip that bastard's heart out slowly." I growled

"You two are tough as nails. With you, now it makes sense. Why don't you cool off with a walk. You can make a backup kill Bill plan in the meantime. I'll deal with the paperwork & questions." Tara suggested

I decided to listen to her & went for a walk outside. Alcide followed behind to make sure I didn't go on a killing spree from a wrong look. It took a few laps to calm down. With nothing else to do, I headed back inside. It seemed I came in just in time as nurse was talking to Tara. But, Tara's body posture was rigid. This wasn't going to be good.

"Are you Tessa Stackhouse? The patient's sister?" the redhead asked me

"Yes. Can you please tell me what's going on with her?" I snapped

"She's lost a lot of blood." She replied

"How much blood?" Tara asked

"A lot." She avoided

"What about a transfusion? Don't you have blood stocked up just in case." I panicked as Alcide held onto both of us

"We tried. Her body rejected it." She revealed which made my heart stop

I was worried this might occur due to the fairy side. I was hoping that her human side was stronger so this wouldn't be an issue.

"Well, maybe you gave her the wrong type of blood. I mean you checked her first right. You better not have taken a fucking guess." Tara jumped in

"Your friend & sister doesn't have a blood type. Are we wrong?" She replied turning to me

"She was born at home & I didn't think anyone checked. She's never needed a hospital before either." I explained

"Well, we can't establish hers & we're running out of time. So, I put in an order for O-. O- is universal donor." She coldly replied

"But, your sister, I have never seen a reaction like this before. I'm sorry. I'm afraid that you're going to have to make preparations." She apologised

I completely zoned out as the fear set in. I went to the reception & asked for the phone. I didn't want to get into the grieving huddle with Alcide & Tara. But, I needed to tell Jas where we were.
