Maria/Tes P.O.V

Sheriff Dearborne was bust. He was a part of a crazy terrorist group killing occults around town. His obese mistress was the ringleader though. She kept shooting me in the heart to knock me out. They attempted to feed an unconscious Sook to the pigs. I was glad that Sam, Andy & Jason came in time. Luna came to & I appreciated her beating the crap out of Ms. Butterworth.

As we gave our statements, I noticed Hoyt being loaded into the ambulance. He had been their prisoner for a while & was high as a kite. He was whisked away for immediate care since they needed to pump his stomach. With him gone, I checked on Sookie & comforted her. She was ready to be loaded into the ambulance for a quick examination. Sam & Luna caught us.

"Sam, Luna, thank you so much. You saved Sook's life again. I owe you big time." I appreciated

"We gotta look out for each other. It's nothing either of you wouldn't have done for us." He smiled

"Still if you ever need my help. Call me up. You're owed a few favours. Besides, I don't mind beating up a few ignorant fools." I smirked

"Ok kickass. I'll remember that. But, don't go start fighting fights in between." He laughed as the paramedics began shooing him

I gave him a wink as the doors closed. Sook was taken to the hospitals while her vitals were monitored during the ride. I hypnotised the medics from seeing my blood-soaked shirt. I didn't need them asking about my missing injury. Sook was admitted & placed under observation. She was fine & just needed time for her high to pass. I set up to sleep in the chair until my phone rang. I quickly answered to avoid waking her up.

"Alcide?" I answered

"Maria. Jesus, I've been trying to reach you all day. But, no one's heard from you or Sook. You girls ok?" He worried

"Ooh, fuck. We're ok. I'm at hospital now. Sook is on overnight observation." I explained

"What the hell happened?" He asked

"Bud was a part of those occult killing Obama group. We had no idea until we came over asking him about her parent's murder. He found the bodies & we were hoping to get a lead. All I got was constant rounds to my damn heart." I recapped

"Holy shit. Well, I'm glad you're both ok. Want me to come over?" He offered

"I don't want to interrupt your time with your dad. Unless you're sure it's ok?" I hesitated

"Take him already! Fuck." a gruff voice shouted

"Dad, go back to watching the game." Alcide snapped

"Someone's grumpy. I feel like you need the rescue this time." I joked

"He's an ass because I'm trying to help him not piss his disability away. But, seeing as he doesn't need my help. I wouldn't mind swinging by & picking you up." He huffed

"Ooh, that explains everything. She should be discharged at 10:00. Thanks so much." I thanked him

"It's the least I could do. Get some rest, babe. I'll see you tomorrow." He said goodbye

Sook was discharged at 10:00 after a peaceful night. Alcide was waiting for us in the lobby & helped us to his car. I leaned into his side as he drove. We filled him in on the strange things happening at the house. He kindly asked to stay the night to protect us. We agreed as it would be nice to not just have the 2 of us. 

Neither of us had to work. We spent the day hanging out but got in before dusk. Tru Blood shortages were still going on for 3 straight nights. No one wanted to be caught out at night with vamps desperate for blood.
