Chapter 38 : Compulsion

Nari's POV

I was still sobbing when someone grabbed my wrist and turned me to face him. I looked up, just to realise it was San.

"Kim Nari... Let's date!" he said. I just looked at him in surprise.

It was at that moment when my heart fluttered because of San for the first time. And from that day, everything changed.

I knew San did that only to save my pride but took care of me as if he really liked me. And I started to fall for him eventually.

And when he just asked to break up that day, I just couldn't take it. I just loved him so much that I didn't want to lose him.

"Don't you want to steal San back from her?..." Hyunwoo said.

At that moment, I decided to be a little greedy and steal San back from Mirae.

"You'll help me to win back San, right?" I said.

Hyunwoo smirked. "I'll help you with it but in return you'll also have to help me."

"What do I need to do?"

Mirae's POV

I was watching a drama on the TV when I heard the door being unlocked. Then I saw San rushing towards me, looking all worried.

He quickly sat beside and put a hand on my forehead. "Are you sick?... Should I go buy some pills." He stood up. "No, let's go to the hospital. I'll take you. Gaja!"

"San, calm down!... Sit here first." I gestured him to sit back. "I'm not sick. I'm really fine."

"Really?" I nodded. He let out a sigh of relief and sat down beside me.

"You worry too much, don't you?"

"How would I not? You just left without telling me anything."

"I just didn't want to worry you."

"You could have at least texted me that you're leaving." He folded his arms, pouting.

"Sorry... I won't do that again. Hm?"

He still looked to the front, folding him arms. So I softly chuckled before pecking his cheeks.

"Will this be enough to make it up for my mistake?" I said.

"If you do this then..." I could clearly see him blush. "One more time." He leaned towards me, showing his cheeks.

I chuckled and pecked his cheeks again. "Happy now?"

"I can't stay mad at you for long, you know? Come here." He made me lean on him. "...It feels so nice."

I looked up at him. "What?"

"Holding you like this. I just feel happy when I look at your face...So don't ever disappear in front of my eyes."

I nodded. "I won't. I'll always stay by you side and protect you. I'll knock them down with my high kick whoever tries to harm you."

He chuckled. "I don't need anything else as long as you're with me." He gave me a genuine smile and rested his head on mine.

I promise you San, I won't let anyone hurt you, not even Lee Hyunwoo. I'll protect you till the end...

Jaehyun's POV

[A couple of days later...]

"Do we really need to go to this extent?" I said.

"Of course!... I'm Lee Hyunwoo, I can go to any extent," he said, smirking. "So what I'm saying is, you have to do it."

I was now at Lee Hyunwoo's place, regretting my life decisions.

"I'm sorry... But I can't do this anymore."

"What?"

"I can't do those bad things for you anymore. I want to quit working with you."

"Yah! You think you can easily escape from here?" He scoffed. "...How are your parents doing, by the way?"

I looked at him. "Why do you look so shocked? I was just asking." He leaned back on his chair. "Don't you remember how I saved your family from going bankrupt?" I just looked down.

He's right. He's the one who saved me and my family from going bankrupt when there weren't any hopes from anywhere.

"That day..." he continued. "You made a deal with me that you'll join me and in return I'd help with your financial situation... Did you forget that?"

"No." I slightly sighed.

"Then it's good... So now if you don't obey my orders then your parents may not do well in the future."

"Don't do anything to my parents."

"You're very quick to get things..." He smirked. "The piece of information that you gave last time, we should make a good use of it. Isn't it?"

I don't have any other options than to obey his orders...

"...I'll do it."
