Mirae's POV
[Few days later...]
"Yeah, like that," I said. "No need to rush yourself. Just take it slow."
I was with San at the hospital, helping him with his exercise. "You're doing great. You can almost walk normally now."
"Can we take a break now?" he said. "I'm tired."
"Okay."
Then I lead him to his room. I made him sit on the bed and pulled up the blanket to cover his legs.
"The doctor said you'll recover soon if you do your exercises well," I said. "If you want to recover quickly then you should listen to him. Got it?"
"My body is made of steel. I'll get well soon. No need to worry." He smiled widely, showing his dimples.
I chuckled. "You seriously..."
We were still chatting with each other when we heard a knock on the door. I was a little surprised to see the person walking inside the room.
"Kim Nari?" I said, turning towards her.
"I came here to see San," she said, smiling slightly. She came and stood beside the bed. "How are you feeling now?"
"Better than before," San replied.
"That's good to hear..." She then suddenly turned to face me. "Mirae, can you please leave us alone for a moment?"
"Ah..." I looked at San who gave me a small nod. "Take your time. I'll be outside."
By saying that, I walked out of the room before closing the door behind me. I sighed before walking away from there.

Nari's POV
I took a seat beside San's bed. "I couldn't sleep the last few days at all... Because I was worrying about you. I couldn't stop thinking about you."
"Kim Nari..."
"I know... You don't need to mind my words now. I just came here to apologise to you." He didn't say anything so I continued.
"Sorry... I tried to hurt you and Mirae. I was very mad back then and even tried to be greedy to steal you back from her. But I was wrong... I should have understood that you won't love me back even if I do that."
I breathed out heavily. "I've one more thing to tell you... I'm leaving for Australia today."
"Why so suddenly?"
I weakly smiled. "Last few days have been a little hard for me. I need some time for myself and to sort out my feelings."
"...When will you come back?"
"I'm not sure. It'll be a while, I guess..." I saw San frowning. "You don't need to worry about me. I just want to stay away from all this for some time." I stood up. "Ah, I have a favor to ask you."
"What is it?"
"...Can we still be friends? I don't want to lose you. I don't have anyone except you. Hm?" I extend my hand for him to shake. He just looked at me blankly. "You don't have to do it if you don't want–"
"Okay..."
"Huh?" He took my hand. "I'll forgive you."
I was getting teary but held it back. "Thanks."
He let go of my hand. "Go safely."
"Uh. You too, get well soon. I'm gonna check up on you when I come back. Got it?"
He laughed a bit. "Seems like the old Nari is back... I'll take care of myself. Don't worry."
"Then... Goodbye."
I waved at him before turning back on my heels to walk away. I came out of the room and closed the door. I took some steps forward when I saw Mirae coming towards me.
"You're leaving already?" she said, stopping in front of me.
"Hm." I nodded.
"I was thinking of asking you to have lunch with us."
"Thanks, but I can't accept it now. I have to leave for the airport in an hour."
"Are you going somewhere?"
"I'm going to Australia. I want to give myself a break from all the things."
"Ah, I see..." She frowned.
"We can have lunch some other time. I'll invite you then."
"Yeah, sure. And go safely."
I nodded. "Ah! I wanted to tell you something... I'll be rooting for you both." I smiled.
"Thank you." She smiled back.
"I'll get going then."
By saying that, I came straight to the parking lot. I entered my car and broke into tears; all alone crying ugly.
"Why is it so hard to give up on someone you love so much? Why?..."
The past memories of me and San started flooding in my mind. All the time we spent were the most beautiful moments of my life. But now it turned out like this.
All my love is gone...
I lifted up my head before wiping the tears away. "This isn't it! I'll meet someone better than San." I nodded. "He doesn't deserve me. There would be someone better than him. It's of no use to hold onto it for now. I need to move on."
I convinced myself like that and drove away.
To be continued...
