Chapter 20

Grace's pov

During dinner in the Great Hall, my dad sat next to my mom leaving me at the end. I noticed Severus sitting across from me, I smiled and waved at him, he glared before turning away. I'll be sure to ask my parents why he doesn't like me. I know, I know I made fun of him when I first met him, but he's too easy to make fun of. Multiple teachers, who seemed quite old, were always staring at me and smiling brightly, my mom knows too many people. Dinner was quite boring as it consisted of a bunch of adults talking about school. I placed my hand in my pocket and realized I forgot, I received an owl from Fred and George this morning. I pulled it out and read it quietly keeping my head down from the adults.

'Dearest Gracie, We are quite disappointed, hurt, heartbroken, that you and your mom think it is okay to abandon us like this. Not wishing us a good year of school, complete rubbish. Hope you know, you are going to get a huge prank during Christmas Holiday, prepare yourself. Love and hate, from your favorite red-haired twins. Gred and Forge.' While reading the letter, I suppressed laughs at their 'heartbroken letter', my dad nudged me to quiet down. He grabbed the letter out of my hands and read it, pushing me away from the letter. "Why are you flirting with the twins?" My dad whispered to me. I rolled my eyes before taking it back, "Gross dad, the twins are like my brother!" I whisper-yelled back, he had a smug look on his face. Before I knew it he took the letter back and handed it to my mom.

She smiled at the twins letter and wiggled her eyebrows at me, I placed my hand on my forehead before sinking further down my chair. 'Parents!' I think before watching them laugh silently at my flushed cheeks. Finally dinner ended and DUmbledore ran to his office, while the other Professors stayed to talk. Severus came up to me and stared down at me, I remember what Uncle Padfoot told me to do if he ever gave me trouble. "Hello, Professor Snape!" I cheered to see his reaction. He continued to glare at me, I noticed my dad walking over. "Did I do something wrong, Snivellus?" I ask, he immediately goes red and points his finger at me. Before my dad could get to me my mom beat him.

Violet's pov

I immediately noticed Severus pointing at my daughter, like he was lecturing her. I walked over and stood in front of her. "Severus, is there a reason you are pointing at my daughter?" I spit, making Grace hold in a laugh. "She called me, what you, and your little group of misfits made up." He sneered back glaring at Grace. "Which one, Snivellus, Greasy, Prick?" I tease before smiling innocently. I stepped closer to him hearing Grace whisper, 'Dad?', before I continue to walk closer. "Act like you have authority over my daughter, one more time, and I won't hesitate to punch you again. This time it'll be more than a broken nose, because Lily isn't here to feel sorry for you, or stop me from giving you what you truly deserve. You may have got away with bullying Lily and me, but you will not live, if you insult, bully, or harass my daughter. Understood, Snivellus?" I sneered as I continued to inch closer, he huffed and walked out.

"Mom, you are so cool!" Grace cheers from behind me. I laugh and turn to face her, "Love, I mean it. If he bullies, insults you, or harasses you come to me immediately. She nods before Regulus picks her up and lifts her on his shoulders. He leans down to kiss my lip before pulling me into his side as we walk to our little flat. "I still don't understand how you didn't end up in Slytherin." Regulus teases, I shove him a bit. "The Sorting Hat did take 3 minutes deciding where to put me. It was between Gryffindor and Slytherin, obviously Gryffindor won. I informed them. Grace pulled Regulus' hair lightly, "Mom, Dad, why does Snevillus hate me." Grace questions, making Regulus laugh before walking us into the flat.

"Your mom is to blame for that, as well as your Uncle Padfoot, Moony, Prongs and your Aunt Lily and Marlene." Regulus mentioned before throwing her on the couch. "Who's Uncle Prongs, Aunt Lily, and Aunt Marlene?" Grace asks, making me grab the counter. "I haven't met them yet, have I?" She questions, turning her head to look at my face. "Um, no. No you haven't met them, love." I mutter before looking at Regulus. Regulus grabbed Grace and sat her on the counter next to me. "When can I meet them mom?" She asks yet another question, I take her hands and smile sadly at her. Regulus sits next to me and rubs my back, "I can tell her if you want, darling." He whispers in my ear, I shook my head. "I got it." I mutter softly.

"Grace, you will not get to meet your Aunt Lily, Aunt Marlene, or your Uncle Prongs. They all um, they all died before they could meet you." I explain through tears and a shaky breath. Grace looks between me and Regulus, she smiles at me before wrapping her arms around my neck. I hug her tightly, Regulus watches awkwardly. "Dad, just hug us, don't be so weird." Grace states before kissing my temple. "Merlin help me, you are too identical to your mother." Regulus groans before hugging us. "Mom, can you explain what you did to make Snape hate me." Grace laughs slightly before grabbing the chocolate frogs Remus gave her, I nod and sit on the couch, she sits on my lap while Regulus joins us with tea.

Flashback; March 15, 1975

"Lupin! Where is Lily?" Severus shouts walking up to me in the hallway, with Narcissa, Bellatrix, Lucius and some good looking kid in tow. I rolled my eyes and turned to be met with Severus face to face. "Well, Snivellus. If you must know, she's snogging James. Have a good day!" I sneer before turning to walk to the Great Hall. "Lupin!" Severus shouts jogging up to me, I continue to walk to the Hall. Once we walk in, James, Sirius, Remus and Peter are eating at the table. "AH! I knew you were lying! Where is she?" He asks once again. "Prongs! How was your and Evans snogging session?" I shout getting closer to the table.

Sirius, Remus, and Peter burst into laughter at James' red face. "Wow, that good?!" I shout before turning to wink at Severus. As he turns Lily walks into the Hall and sits next to me, the three boys still laughing at James' red face. "James, why are you red?" Lily questions making Sirius fall to the floor with his laughter. Severus stands there dumbfoundedly, I turn to him. "Oh did I say she was snogging James? I meant she was helping Marlene study." I tease before smiling at him. "Shit Moony, your sister keeps all of us on our toes!" Peter shouts before Sirius stands up and walks over to me.

He leans down and kisses my cheek, "That's why you are my favorite Lupin, Vi." He states before ruffling my hair. "Hear that Moony? I'm Sirius' favorite." I shout from across the table making Remus roll his eyes. "That was great, Vi. But did you have to say I snogged James?" Lily questions with a disgusted face. "Lil, are you trying to tell me you would never snog, Potter?" I teased before nudging her side. She nods heisantly, "That's exactly what I'm saying." Lily states before Marlene walks up and sits across from us. "Cut the shit, Lil. Just admit you'd snog James." Marlene states rather stubbornly before stealing Sirius' potatoes. Lily turns red as well as James, making the rest of the group laugh.

Present Time

"MOM! You are so cool!" Grace shouts before wiping the tears off my cheek. "Wait a minute! That was you?" Regulus asked, confused, I nodded. "I always thought that you were hot when that happened." Regulus admits making Grace scrunch her nose. "Don't. Call. Mom. Hot. You weirdo." Grace teases before kissing my cheek. I laugh before kissing Grace on her head. "Okay, love. It's time for bed, Grace." I say as I set her on the ground. She kisses Regulus on the cheek and gives him a hug. "Night dad! I love you!" She whispers into his ear before running to her room. "I love you too, pretty girl." Regulus shouts as she runs away. He stands up slowly and pulls me into his chest. He cradles my head, placing small kisses from my forehead to my temple. "I miss them terribly." I whisper with a broken voice. "I know darling, I know."Regulus whispers as he plays with my hair and rubs my back. "They would have loved her." I whisper again, Regulus pulls me to look at him. "They do love her. Hey, just relax okay. Marlene is probably cursing you out for crying." Regulus states, I laugh a bit knowing he is probably right.

"Just one more year, love. One more year and we have Harry." Regulus reminds me. I nod and smile up at him. "Who's Harry?" Grace buts in from the living room doorway. "That, my dear, is a story for another day. You and your mom need sleep." Regulus says as he picks Grace off the floor and carries her to her room. "Night mom! I love you!" She shouts as they walk away. "Good night Grace! I love you too." I shout back before cleaning the tea cups and Grace's leftover chocolate wrappers. Regulus walks into the kitchen a few minutes after leaving to put Grace to bed. He walks behind me and wraps his arms around my waist, "Love, let's go to bed. You need rest." He whispers into my ear before kissing my neck. I nod before taking his hand and walking to our bedroom. I peeked into Grace's room and saw she was clutching Remus' werewolf stuffed animal and Sirius' old leather jacket. I smiled before joining Regulus in bed.
