Chapter 25

Violet's pov

12:25 August 1, 1991

Harry was resting in my arms, he was playing with the ends of my hair. I played with the hair on the back of his head. "What would you like to know?" I asked in a hush tone, stroking the crown of his head. "Mhm, my parents, did they always like each other?" He asked in a whisper, avoiding loud sounds to wake Regulus behind me. I let out a small laugh and kissed his forehead gently. "That question has a great story behind it." I mumbled into his forehead. Before I could explain the story, my door opened again, Grace came over to my side of the bed. "I can't sleep mom." Grace whined, rubbing her eyes.

I opened the blankets and swung my legs off the bed. I put Harry and Grace on each of my hips. "You know, for you two being 11 and 10 you sure like to be held." I laughed softly as I walked out to the living room. I placed them both down gently, "Why don't you two find blankets and pillows." I mutter while magicking the couches together. Quietly and quickly they made their way back to the living room with pillows and blankets. I placed them on the couch-bed along with the pillows and blankets. I slid in between them, they nuzzled into my sides as I played with their hair slowly. "Now Harry, your parents' relationship was as confusing as they get, but nonetheless they loved each other unconditionally. Now, where to start." I whispered while cuddling them in closer.

Flashback

Violet's 3rd year

"I hate him, loathe him! Violet! He's an ass!" Lily shouts as she throws herself next to my feet. "A good looking ass, Lily." I tease earning a pillow to the face. She groans and slouches against the couch. I laugh and sit up to face her. "What did James do this time?" I ask as I pull her onto me. Slowly I start to play with her hair. "He called me uptight! Then when Sirius joined in with the insults he laughed! He LAUGHED! And so did your brother, might I add." She huffed before looking up at me for a response. "I'm not uptight! Am I?" Lily questioned softly, I sat up and grabbed her face. "You are not uptight." I sternly spoke, I stood up and lifted her with me.

"Vi, where are we going?" Lily cried and I pulled her down the halls. "Patience Lily." I shortly stated, continuing forward. James, Peter, Sirius and Remus were gathered by a tree, talking amongst each other. Lily gripped her book tightly before I pulled her with me. I stood in front of the boys with my arms crossed over my chest. "Oh shit, Lily told Violet!" Peter shouted before hiding. I smirked at the three boys, they quickly stood up and shyly hid their faces. "Oh come on Vi, if you saw the way she was acting you would have called her uptight too." James tried to reason with me. Lily scoffed before walking in front of me, pressing her finger to his chest.

"James Potter, I am not uptight! It's not my fault you four are idiots!" Lily sneered, pushing him backwards. James held his hands up in defense, Sirius and Remus trying to hold their laughter back. "Lily, you can't take a joke! Therefore that places you in the uptight category." James teased back, Lily was fuming. "I think you have been spending too much time with Snivellus." James added on. Lily gripped her book and slapped James in the face with it. "LILY!" I shouted before walking in between them. Sirius and Remus toppled over each other in their laughing fit. "Ow!" Lily shouted clutching her hand, James was holding the bridge of his nose. I walked Lily to the hospital wing, James, Sirius, Remus following a bit behind.

As we entered Madam Pomfrey and Professor McGonagall urgently ran over to us. "What in the name of Merlin happened?" McGonagall asked, Lily looked at me for help, while Sirius and Remus bursted into laughter again. "James fell on his face, like an idiot. And Lily hurt her wrist grabbing a heavy book off the top shelf." I lied quickly, earning a thankful smile from Lily. McGonagall eyed us but Pomfrey took over, she wrapped Lily's wrist and gave her medicine, she fixed James' broken nose. "Will you two stop laughing and leave! You have no injuries. Vi-Violet is talking to Professor McGonagall." Pomfrey shooed Sirius and Remus out.
