Picking the Champions

I walked in and kissed Grace's head, I ruffled Harry's, Ron's, and Draco's head before standing with McGonagall and Regulus at the front of the Great Hall. Dumbledore, the minister, and Barty were whispering while everyone got seated. I looked up and noticed Mad-eye do a unique tic where his tongue moved around. Regulus rubbed my back and kissed my temple. Dumbledore walked to the front and silenced everyone. "Durmstrung champion is Viktor Krum!" He read the paper that shot out of the Goblet. Viktor walked by and walked into the room behind us.

"Beauxbatons champion is, Fluer Delacour!" Dumbledore announced the french table erupted with cheers. She shook hands with Dumbledore and hugged her headmistress before walking into the room behind us. "Finally, The Hogwarts champion is Cedric Diggerory!" Dumbledore announced, Hogwarts students cheered as Cedric shook hands with Dumbledore and walked through the door. "Now that the selection is done the three cha-" Dumbledore was cut off by the Goblet roaring and spitting out another paper.

"Harry Potter." Dumbledore whispered. I froze and Regulus grabbed onto me, Dumbledore searched the room. "HARRY POTTER!" Dumbledore screamed, Harry stood up and walked past Dumbledore. He hugged me tightly, "It's okay. Go back there, I'll figure it out." I whispered. He walked back. "He's a cheat!" Seamus and a few others shouted. Grace smacked Seamus' head. "Shove off Seamus. He didn't do it." Grace argued. McGonagall, Reg and I walked into the room after Dumbledore ran in.

"Harry! DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE!" Dumbledore (said calmly) shouted, shaking Harry. I put myself in between Dumbledore and Harry. "Enough!" I shouted, the Headmasters, other professors, and Barty and Fudge went silent. I turned and held Harry's face. "Harry, I don't believe you did it. But I have to ask. Did you put your name in the goblet of fire?" I questioned stroking his cheeks with my thumbs. "N-no, I-I swear." He stuttered. "Okay, okay. I believe you, love." I assured him, he hugged me and buried his head in my neck.

"Cornelius, he's just a boy. He's 14, you can't allow him to compete." I protested. "Mrs. Black, the Goblet has spoken. He must compete." Barty spoke up. I stroked Harry's head lightly, running my fingers through is overgrown hair. "You expect him to compete with 17 year olds, in a competition that is so dangerous the age is 17. There is a reason you raised the age limit!" I shouted. Harry tensed up and I kissed the top of his head.

"Dumbledore, do something." I pleaded. "The Goblet has spoken." He muttered. I pulled Harry out of the room and held him close to me. "People called me a cheat." He whispered. "Yes but your sister, the one you pick on, she smack the people who did." I assured him. "HARRY!" Grace cried jumping into his arms. "I-I didn't do it, Gracie." Harry cried. "I know Harry. I believe you." She whispered, kissing his cheek. Draco joined in on the hug. "Vi, Ron thinks Harry joined on purpose." Hermione whispered, I nodded and grabbed him as he tried to leave.

"Ronald, you know Harry doesn't want this." I warned. "But Vi, he-he just gets all the attention." He explained. "Ron, Harry doesn't want attention. But he will need his best friends." I smiled, he nodded and walked over. Regulus came up behind me and kissed my cheek. "I'm nervous Reg." I whispered. "Me too, love. But he'll be fine, especially if he's anything like his father." He joked. "I'll see you in classes." I kissed Grace, Harry, and Draco goodnight.

Next Morning

I walked into Mad-eye's class and sat in a spare chair. He walked in and jumped backward, "Sorry Alastor. I thought McGonagall told you I was switched to this class." I apologized. "It's alright." He grumbled as the kids walked in. Harry waved sheepishly at me. I smiled, Ron sat next to him and Draco and Hermione sat next to each other. Alastor walked to the front of the class and they went silent.
