Both Sam and Daria seemed to have the same idea. They both tried to ignore each other, at least, for the most part. Sam still couldn't stay away, but he had to be more discreet about it, though it'd only have to be until he called off his relationship with Leah. He was going to soon, especially since his mind had been racing since he kissed Daria, but he was still worried about hurting Leah. He still cared for Leah, so hurting her was not in his intentions at all, even though he figured it'd be inevitable soon enough.

Sue had caught on to the tension between Daria and Sam, but she didn't know exactly where it was coming from. She had seen the tension first hand, when Daria had come by to drop off Nymphadora for the day, and Sam had come by to talk to Harry about something she didn't know about. When Daria seen Sam, she tried to avoid eye contact, but he didn't seem to want to avoid eye contact with her, since he stared at her for a good moment waiting for Harry to come into the living room.

Daria and Sam didn't know how close they had actually come, until Nymphadora looked over at the older boy and reached her arms out to him, whilst she was still in her mother's arms. Daria felt butterflies in her stomach, as Sam seemed to simple smile slightly at the baby, before gently taking her into his arms.

As soon as Nymphadora was in Sam's arms, Daria decided it was time for her to leave. She said her farewells to Sue and Harry, before walking over to Sam and Nymphadora. She smiled awkwardly at Sam, then looked to her baby and gave her a couple kisses.

"I'll see you later, Dora." Daria cooed, before waving and leaving the house.

Sam had to conceal his feelings, even though it was rather hard. When Nymphadora was in his arms, he almost wished it would bring him and Daria closer together. He loved holding the little girl, since she seemed to love him as much as he loved her. He couldn't deny that he wanted to pull Daria to him, when she had been so close to kiss her daughter goodbye for the day. He had to conceal his feelings, at least until he broke it off with Leah.

Daria couldn't get it out of her head. The whole ride to work seemed clouded, since her mind was racing the whole time. All she could think about was how good Sam looked holding Nymphadora. If she didn't have feelings for him before, she definitely knew she did now. She couldn't act on her emotions, not like Sam had, since she didn't want to hurt Leah, no matter how mean Leah actually was to her. She was worried that if she didn't lose the feelings soon, she wouldn't be able to cover them up.

At moments like this, Daria wished she was still able to talk to her Aunt Mia. Mia seemed to always know the answers; know the right things to do and say, but she couldn't talk to Mia. Mia was the one Daria confided in the most, even over her own mother. She loved Letty, but Mia was always the girl she'd go to for advice. Letty wasn't really the type of person to discuss feelings and she wasn't really a voice of reason either. Letty would be more likely to tell her daughter that violence was the answer, when Mia would give her advice that she could actually use.

Daria also wished she could go to her Uncle Brian for guy advice. She didn't want him to know about Sam, but she wanted his advice on how to deal with boys. He would be very helpful, even if he teased Daria about it relentlessly. Problem was Brian was very over protective, as was Dom, so she really couldn't tell them about Sam, especially now that she had Nymphadora.

Nymphadora, her pride and joy. Daria was going to have a hard time telling her family about the baby, so the more she thought about them, the more she wanted to keep the baby a secret. She loved her daughter, anyone could see that, but she was still rather scared and nervous to tell her family about the baby that changed her entire life. Of course, anyone would tell her that a baby would change her life, but the baby completely changed her life more than anyone would've thought.

"Mia wouldn't mind, she'd love Dora. Brian would love her, too, but he'd be upset with me. Mom would hate me, and Dad--god, Dad would go ballistic. Tej and Roman would love her, but they'd be pissed. Damn, even Han-- nope, I can't tell them. We're going to have to stay a secret. Damn it." Daria argued with herself, before sighing and laying her head down on the steering wheel with a huff.

She wished to see them all again, but it would never happen. She had to stay hidden, even if she missed them. Then a thought came to her mind, even though once she thought of it she knew it wouldn't work. She wondered if Sue or Sam could care for Nymphadora, as she went to see her family, but that would raise too many questions. Her family would wonder why she disappeared, or try to drag her back home, but she couldn't leave her baby behind.

She had to do what was right by her and Nymphadora. She had to stay in Washington, even if that meant she'd never see her family again. She wanted to have a normal life, but she knew that would never happen. She needed to figure out a way to have a somewhat normal life, but that would only happen if she made some friends. She needed to make friends, otherwise she'd always feel like an outsider. She just needed a snippet of normalcy for once...

A/N: I hope you liked this chapter. Sorry for such a long wait, I've been rather busy, but I finally had time to update. I'm hoping to update each of my books. I would've had this chapter up ten minutes ago, if Wattpad didn't decide to giving me troubles. Also, the slow burn won't last too long, I promise.

Love you guys!
