"C'mon Jacob, Paul and Seth have Dora. You're coming with me." Daria said, as she stuck her head out the door to see Jacob sitting on the porch of the pack house.
Recently Jacob had been down and Daria wanted him to feel more like a part of the pack. Sure, Jacob was a real jerk towards her and Sam at times, but she wondered if he wouldn't be so rude if she put in an effort to get to know him better and include him in more than just pack mess.
"Where are we going?" Jacob asked, walking into the pack house with Daria so she could let Paul and Seth know that she and Jacob were leaving.
"I have to pick up some things for my car. After Shaw dented and scratched it, I realized I needed to fix more than just a couple of things. I've been neglecting to do so, since I've had Dora and since I've been living here." Daria replied, as she kissed Nymphadora on the forehead.
"Doesn't your car take custom parts?" He asked, following her out to her car.
"Yes, which is why I have to pick the parts up in Port Angeles. Dad had everything imported for me. He said he'd come down here to fix the dent if I can't get it out, and I'll have to pick the perfect weather to paint it, otherwise I'll have to drive it to my dad to fix it." Daria answered, as she revved her engine and drove away from the pack house.
The drive to Port Angeles would normally take an hour or so, but Daria made the drive only last forty minutes. She drove really fast, which had made Jacob white knuckled for a bit, since he was gripping the "oh shit" handle like it was going to save his life. When Daria pulled up outside of the warehouse where Dom had the parts shipped, Jacob felt a little uneasy. He had never went on such a run with anyone before, since most of his parts were restored by hand and not bought brand new, shipped overseas, or brought by a questionable truck or company. When Daria stepped out of the car, Jacob quickly followed her, knowing he'd have to help if she were to get into trouble.
Walking inside, Daria was met by a blonde girl with wavy, almost curly, hair and blue eyes. The girl didn't look like she knew anything about cars, but she also didn't look dumb either.
"Are you Darling Toretto?" The blonde asked, and Daria nodded.
"Who's asking?" Daria asked, crossing her arms.
"Taylor Laughlin, your father, Dominic Toretto, sent over a truck full of car parts for you. My boss, Max, he told me you'd be picking it up today while he was away." Taylor said, and Daria smiled.
"My friend, Jacob, will be driving the truck." Daria replied, as she snatched the keys from Taylor's hand.
"You're supposed to pick up the stuff, not the truck." Taylor commented, causing Daria to smirk.
"Consider it a loan, Taylor. We both know Max has been overpricing his work for a while now. You'll get the truck back when I decide to bring it back. Just know, if you cause any problems, everyone will know yours and Max's secrets." Daria retorted, as she walked back to her car and sped away.
Her father had told her all about Max, so she knew a lot more than Max's overpricing, but she wasn't going to let all of her knowledge out just yet. Jacob and Daria drove back to La Push, and Sam was baffled when he seen the big truck rolling into his yard.
"What's this?" He asked, and Daria smirked.
"A loan. Dad sent me parts, and the generous guy who owns the warehouse where the parts were shipped let me borrow the truck. Wasn't that nice of him, Jacob?" She commented, laughing a bit.
"Yep, and he's letting you keep it as long as you need." He added, a smirk on his lips.
Sam figured out what the truth was quite fast, but he simply shook his head with a smile. He knew her father had a hand in this, so he knew she wouldn't be harmed for taking the truck.
"I just need the stuff taken out of the truck and stored in the garage I had built last week." Daria said, and the boys nodded.
Jared, Paul, Jacob, and Sam carried all of the parts and tools to the garage and laid them neatly together for Daria. Once the truck was emptied, Jacob volunteered to bring the truck back to the warehouse. Sam sent Jared with him, so he wouldn't be ambushed or anything by the people at the warehouse.
"Your father is a great influence." Sam murmured, causing the girl to laugh.
"I know." She replied, a smirk on her face.
"I'm surprised he didn't bring the parts here himself." He said, and Daria shrugged.
"He's catching on lost time with Mom. He said he'd come to fix the dent in the side if I can't get it out though," She answered, biting her lip slightly,,"I almost want to pretend I tried and couldn't fix it, just for him and Mom to come visit." She added, causing Sam to frown.
"You know if you tell them you miss them, they'd probably come and visit. They miss you just as much as you miss them, if not more." He said, and she smiled lightly.
"You're right. I-I think I'll talk to them next week about it." Daria replied, as she and Sam made their way into the house.
Daria was going to work on the car when she wasn't busy with Nymphadora or cooking for the pack. She hoped she'd have plenty of time to work on her car, but she wasn't going to get her hopes up. She also hoped she'd see her family soon, but she wasn't sure if she'd be able to tempt them into seeing her. If only she knew how the future would be instead of being thrown into the unknown...
