Run Away (Twilight/ F&F crossover)

Chapter Eighty Four

    Daria and James had to stay in the hospital for about a week, since he was born early, and Daria had been a bit malnourished and dehydrated from her time with Cipher. Everyone had agreed not to tell the nurses or doctors about what happened with Cipher, since they didn't want anything to happen to Daria anymore, or anyone else for that matter, because of Cipher.

     Once the week had passed, Daria and James were able to leave the hospital. Sam had matters to attend to back in Washington, so he had to leave two days earlier, but he was able to leave Nymphadora with Daria's parents, so she could stay with her other family longer. Since James was so young, and Daria had just given birth only days ago, the two weren't able to take a plane home. With that being said, Tej opted to drive the mother and her two children all the way from New York to Washington.

     The ride from New York to Washington was forty two hours, which was almost two full days. Since there was two small children in the car, Tej knew he'd be taking many stops. The woman who had just had a baby a week ago would need frequent stops too, and they both knew the two children wouldn't be able to deal with staying in a car that long either. The two adults figured it would take a few days to get to Washington with the two children, since there was quite a few reasons they'd have to stop or take breaks between trips.

     The ride started out fine. Everything seemed to be going well for the four of them, but it didn't last long. By the third hour of the ride, everything seemed to go down hill. James started crying because he had spit up just a little on the front of his onesie. Nymphadora began to complain she had to pee, which Daria agreed to as well. When they stopped at a gas station to clean James and let the girls use the restroom, as did Tej, since he had stopped. Tej cleaned up James, as the girls went inside to use the restroom. As soon as they left the restroom, Nymphadora began to wander around the gas station.

"Mommy, I'm hungry." Nymphadora said, causing Daria to sigh.

"Can you wait for fast food? It's only like thirty minutes from here, according to the sign we passed before we got here." Daria commented, making Nymphadora pout.

"Can I have a small chocolate bar?" She asked, and Daria nodded.

"That's fine. Get Uncle Tej one as well." She answered, grabbing herself an Almond Joy.

      Nymphadora grabbed two Snickers bars for her and Tej, before she grabbed her mother's hand and walked up to the register. As they walked over, Daria spotted little juices by the counter.

"Pick yourself a Bug Juice, baby." Daria murmured, and Nymphadora nodded.

      With the chocolate bars held to her chest, Nymphadora walked over to the cooler and opened the door. Nymphadora grabbed a red Bug Juice, as well as a purple one, since she had a hard time choosing. Daria surpressed a laugh when she seen how full Nymphadora's arms were. Setting her chocolate on the counter, Daria grabbed the items from Nymphadora's arms and placed them on the counter with hers. Daria planned on buying drinks at whatever fast food place they stopped at, but for now, she knew Nymphadora needed a drink to hold her over.

      After paying, Daria brought Nymphadora out to the car and waited for Tej to get back, before they began to drive again. Daria had decided to stop at Chick-fil-a, since she knew it wouldn't be too hard for Nymphadora to eat in the car. Again, after a few more hours, the children began to cry and complain. The two were becoming restless, meaning they'd have to stop and get a hotel room for the night. Luckily, the hotel they stopped at had a complimentary breakfast, so she, Tej, and Nymphadora would be able to eat before they left for a few more hours of driving.

"Does Sam know you're going to take a long time to get home?" Tej asked, and Daria nodded.

"Yes, he does. He figured it would take us a long time, since he knows how needy Dora can be, so he believed James would be as well, and it would cause our trip to take a lot longer than forty two hours." Daria replied, causing Tej to chuckle.

"The two kids get that from you, Darling. Dom told us many stories of your childhood, especially when he really missed you when you were away." Tej commented, and Daria frowned.

"I'm still sorry for leaving you guys. I thought it would be the best idea at the time, and I knew it would hurt everyone just as much as it hurt me, but I still didn't change my mind. I was very hardheaded and I haven't really grown out of it." Daria said, as Tej nodded slightly.

"I get it, believe me, I do. I would've done the same if I was you," He replied,"You don't have to apologize, Darling. We understand, and we've all forgiven you long before we actually found you. To be honest, we were worried we had done something wrong to make you leave. Obviously, we didn't, but that was an idea for a long time." He added, causing Daria to sigh.

"I'm happy you all are back in my life." She murmured, hugging the man that sat beside her on one of the hotel beds.

      Daria was going to have James sleeping near her bed, and Tej was going to sleep in the other bed, possibly sharing with Nymphadora, if she didn't want to be bothered by her mother moving around to help James every couple of hours. Anyhow, Daria was glad to have her family, even if she had done wrong by leaving them. She refused to leave them again, even though she wasn't able to see them often. They were her family, she absolutely loved them, and nothing was going to make her turn her back on them again...
