Run Away (Twilight/ F&F crossover)

Chapter Seventy

Daria had healed from her injuries, which Sam had scolded her over. They had also discussed the vampires they had to deal with when Daria was gone. Over the last few days, Daria heard about Jacob's friend possibly phasing soon. The boy, Quil, had been left alone since his friends had turned into wolves. Of course, Quil didn't know about the wolves, so he was just under the impression that they had abandoned him.

Jacob still wasn't the nicest to Daria, but after he heard about everything that happened to her, he started to act nicer. When she first came back, she had sympathized with Jacob for his injuries, but when he snapped at her, she went back to ignoring him. He had since tried to apologize for the most part, but she was still very wary of him, especially atounf her daughter.

"Jacob's in a mood today." Embry commented, when he entered the pack house.

"Why now?" Daria asked, looking over towards the boy.

"Apparently the leech lover is engaged to her leech. I guess it just sunk in for Jacob or something, but he's pissed about it." Embry replied, causing Daria to shake her head in disapprovement.

Daria didn't understand Jacob's obsession with Bella. Bella wasn't anything special, so Daria didn't see what Jacob seen in the girl at all. Daria had never been hostile towards Bella, or if she was she had a reason to be, but Bella didn't like Daria. Bella was rather rude to Daria, even though Daria had been a kind soul. Daria was never that nice, not until she birthed Nymphadora. Once she had Nymphadora, Daria seemed to change a bit for the better. She was now nice and more understanding when it came to new people, but not everyone made things easy for her.

"Sam told him to find a new girl to obsess over, and he snapped at Sam. He said something along the lines of, 'like you did with Darling?' Jacob and Sam got into a fight as soon as those words left Jacob's mouth, but we all know it's leech lover's fault. If it wasn't for her, Jacob would've never ended up this way." Embry said, and Daria nodded in agreement.

"You're right, but there's no way in hell that we can change the way Jacob acts when it comes to Bella. Im not a fan of her, and I never have been, but Jacob's too far sunk to pull him away from her, even now." Daria replied, causing Embry to shake his head.

"I liked Jacob better when Bella wasn't around, ya know, before she came back to Forks." He commented, and Daria smiled sympathetically.

Daria understood what it was like to lose someone to a problem like this, but Jacob's infatuation with Bella was on a whole new level. Daria couldn't quite understand how Jacob could be so attached to Bella, when she had heard from Embry that Bella was using Jacob and wasnt very nice to him.

"Quil has phased. Sam is trying to get him to phase back." Seth said, as he walked into the pack house.

Sam had been taking Seth on a few easy patrols, just to let the boy feel like more of a part of the pack. Seth had been feeling left out lately, so Daria and Sam agreed that they should compromise and allow Seth to do more, even though he was the youngest member of the pack.

"I guess I should start on the brownies." Daria commented, as she pulled out a mixing bowl and whisk.

"Put icing and candies on top, too, please." Seth replied, showing his puppy eyes to Daria.

"Fine, but you better save some for your brothers." Daria retorted, and Seth groaned, but nodded in agreement anyway.

By the time Daria was done with the brownies, she had to start making dinner. She decided to make barbecue chicken, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and rolls. Nymphadora loved mashed potatoes and rolls, so Daria tried to make them as often as possible. She made them so often, even the pack had become accustomed to eating them often. She would make foods that went with the sides, but she made the sides a lot.

"Seth, go wake Nymphadora. She doesn't need to sleep past dinner." Daria said, causing the boy to stand from the couch and walk towards the nursery.

"You have so much authority over us, it's hilarious." Embry commented, making the girl laugh slightly.

Moments later, Leah, Jacob, and Paul entered the house. They piled around the table, knowing dinner would be ready soon. The entire pack seemed to love Daria's food, even Jacob, though he still despised the woman just a little bit. He mostly despised her now, since Sam was so happy and content. Jacob wanted that, but he couldn't seem to find anyone who was right for him. He wished it was Bella, but recently he's been thinking that it's not Bella.

"Darling, you should probably set up another space. Quil will be here soon." Jacob said, causing Leah to scowl.

"You could set it up for her. She's cooking. You're just sitting there doing absolutely nothing." Leah quipped, and Jacob sighed.

As Jacob set up another area, the door opened again to reveal Sam, Jared, and Quil.

"Hey, Quil. I see you're finally a part of the pack." Daria commented, and Quil nodded.

"Yep, I'm finally here." He replied, smiling at the girl.

"You may take a seat. Seth will be here any second with Nymphadora. He was just getting her ready for dinner." Daria said, as she set the food on the table.

Moments later, Seth walked into the kitchen with Nymphadora perched on his hip.

"Dora, this is our new friend, Quil. Quil, this is mine and Sam's daughter, Nymphadora." Daria introduced, before turning around to get napkins for everyone.

Quil looked up and met eyes with Nymphadora, and his whole world seemed to stop. Sam growled when he realized what had happened. He slammed his hand on the table slightly, scaring everyone slightly. Seth sat Nymphadora in her high chair, as Sam glared at Quil. The pack looked between the two, before they finally realized what happened.

"You did not just do that." Paul murmured, as he stared with wide eyes.

All hell was going to break loose at the dinner table...

A/N: I hope you guys liked this chapter. I wasn't going to update today since I'm so tired, but I had an idea and I couldn't let it slip away.
